Title: Know When You Die
Norman - July 4, 2009 07:09 AM (GMT)
Let's say you could be told the exact date and time of your death. Would you want to know? Or would you prefer to not know?
Keep in mind that even if you know, you can't change when you die. No matter what you do, the time of your death is set.

It would be convenient, but... I don't think I'm the stable sort of person who could deal with that sort of knowledge. I'd get too paranoid about and/or overthink it.
So no.
Rose Crystal - July 6, 2009 03:35 PM (GMT)
I would like to know it.
After all, if I know when I'm going to die, I can do all kinds of crazy dangerous stuff until that happens, without fearing my death.
And on the last day of my life, I'll know it, so I'll be able to do everything I have to do before I kick the bucket.

You could still wind up crippled or in a coma without dying, though.

I guess that's true. So maybe I'd hold off on the crazy stuff, but I would still try to live my life to the fullest.

I don't know what I could do with that information. I do know it would encourage me to be a lot more lazy, since I would know I have plenty of time.
Guy - July 7, 2009 02:44 PM (GMT)
I'd probably become lazier too, but more in the "it won't matter after I'm dead" sort of way.

I'm philosophical enough that I could probably brook knowing when I would die. However, I like to plan things out too well, so I would probably end up saving all the most important things for too long, and a debilitation would leave me dying and unable to carry out my final will.

the convienience of knowing will bring me some peace of mind so yes!!!
Norman - August 23, 2009 08:06 AM (GMT)
As for me... I'm honestly not sure whether I'd want to know or not. But I can say that in the moment that I am offered this piece of information, my curiosity would almost certainly get the better of me, and I would ask to know.
Goku - August 23, 2009 09:41 AM (GMT)
well i would make me more worried and i would not be able to do anythign right so
my answer is no
pip-sQueak - August 23, 2009 01:37 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I'd want to know I think... maybe anyway. This is a hard question.
It would be good to know though, because you'd know how to spend your time. If I'm going to die in like the next ten years, then why put back money and stuff for my retirement at age 65? Or, if I know I'm going to reach age 99, then the converse would apply.
Suigintou's Friend - August 24, 2009 04:28 AM (GMT)
Nah. I would just spend my life dreading the coming date.
Razor - August 31, 2009 01:08 AM (GMT)
I would like to know.
That way I can do something amazing on my last day.
