Unfortunatelly, this is true. It still freaks me out and blows my mind.
I never cared for his personal life much, but this should not take away from his talent and abilities as a songwriter and dancer.

He was one of the few Pop singers that I have respected.

Poor Michael Jackson. I am twenty years old, but before his death Michael Jackson was little more to me than the subject of jokes about child abuse. It had never occured to me to listen to his music (or watch his dancing). Were it not for the continuous playbacks of his music videos on MTV, he would've been completely lost on a generation as no more than a rich star accused of perversion. May he be remembered well.

He was quite popular when I was a kid. It was times when pop was real music, not crap.
There were some singers with very strong personalities like Michael Jackson and Tina Turner.
Then people like Britney Spears started to pop up and pop went to gutter.

But MJ did "fall from grace" don't you think?
He was excellent when he was still black, he became offensive and wierd when he um, whitened?
I like his old songs like Beat it, Thriller and that earth song thinger...

I think his plastic operations required a lot of weirdness and self-hate.
