Title: Anime Recommendations Thread

Norman - October 30, 2008 04:18 AM (GMT)
We've had a few topics for recommendations before, but from now on let's keep all of them in one thread. So if you're wondering if that show you keep hearing about is any good, or if you're just looking for recommendations in general, this is the place to post it.

Now to start it off: exactly how high of a priority should watching Shugo Chara be? I've been thinking about watching it for a while, but the lack of a batch torrent is a bit of a turn off...

It's a lot of fun, but I'd say there are other things to watch first. So watch it in the times when you're caught up with whatever else you feel like watching. But you have to watch it some time, because man cannot live without Eru.

I can live without Eru. Eru is the one character I can't stand. >_<

If you follow the kids' Mahou Shoujo genre (like Cardcaptor Sakura as opposed to the teenage versions like Mai Hime), it should be high on your list.

Don't be put off by the lack of plot in the first six episodes or so. After that real, intelligent plots develop.

This is kind of a silly request, but:

Anime in settings with lots of snow (like Kanon)?

Rascal, perhaps?

Something like Mahou Shoujo Pretty Sammy, or Nurse Witch Komugi? I guess you could say Magical Girl Parodies.

Could someone recommend me an anime/manga that is dripping with happiness?

Does anyone know any happy romance anime/manga (without love triangles, cheating, tragedies and other emo crap), maybe with some erotic undertones?

I thought you'd never ask! (Though you may have seen it already,) Shugo Chara! has become a big favorite of mine... and as you desire, it's abjectly sweet and cute and happy!

Hop! Step! Jump!
Drew! Draw! Drawn!
Chips! Syrup! Whipcream!

For cheering up Delight, leave it to Suu!
Well, it's not a straight romance of course, but I've always found Amu's romantic indecisiveness
hilarious!

(After that, maybe Chobits? That's one's definitely a sweet romance!)

Is it just me or is Peach Pit practising a massive character recyclement in Shugo Chara/Rozen Maiden XD ?

Delight - August 13, 2009 03:19 AM (GMT)
Could someone recommend me a misantrophic, anti-human anime?

Dai Mahou Touge/Magical Girl Punie-chan. It's the manliest magical girl series ever.

LYRICAL TOKAREV - WATCH THIS SHOW

I looked into it a bit more, and it sounds awesome, so now I will pirate all eight episodes and may possibly snoop around for a good deal on the DVDs.

Much gratitude is given.

EDIT: These eight episodes are... potentially... the greatest things I have ever witnessed.
