Its called the werewolf :P
| QUOTE |
"Each player is a villager in the town. Two of the villagers/players are werewolves (selected by me), and every night they eat one of the non-werewolf players. No one else but myself knows who the werewolves are. The next day, the villagers panic and select 1 player who they think might be one of the werewolves, "banishing" them from the town. This continues until either all the villagers are gone, or both the werewolves are gone. One of the villagers also has a special power. They're called a Seer. Once every night (after the werewolves go) they can determine whether a villager of their choosing is a werewolf or not.
The first round is the night round, and one werewolf will PM me the villager they choose to eat. Then I'll post to the group telling who is gone. Next, I'll PM the Seer and ask who they want to use their power on, and I'll tell them the result. The purpose of the seer is to basically ask, "Is this person one of the werewolves?!" Since no one knows who the seer is, it will be up to them to try and convince the rest of you who the werewolf is. This game is all about trust and dishonesty folks! Use those to your advantage!
After the night round, the daytime comes around and everyone will vote for who they think is a werewolf. I'll set a deadline of a day or two, and once that deadline is up I'll count the votes, and remove whoever got the most votes from the game (whether the villagers were right or wrong). Villagers can change their votes up until the deadline, and discussion is encouraged, and advised since you don't want to be the one voted out! Don't let people vote for you! Talk it up!
Once that's done, the next night starts, and the cycle repeats. |
So basically werewolves kill humans and seers, the humans with seer can kill the werewolves.
It's basically for fun, but you can add prizes if ya want.
There needs to be atleast three werewolves, two people with seer, and 10 humans or villagers. you can pick. :P

Oh, murder in the dark, fun stuff. I'd love to do this. Never seen it in a werewolf setting before.
With the seer, though, it's not actually that simple. The Seer can't say they're the seer, otherwise the Seer will be the next night's dinner. Additionally, because the Seer isn't known the other villagers, he doesn't just -kill- the werewolves. He still has to convince the other villagers to agree to the banishment of a person- a challenge in its own.
Werewolves do well to kill off whoever seems to be the smartest among the remaining players- or whoever is close to discovering the identities of the werewolves. However, they have to be sure in doing the later, they do not become suspected for it. If a person dies every time he calls out Iko as a werewolf, it's pretty obvious Iko's a werewolf.
Also, typically, there's a village judge, who serves as the GM. He can collect votes from the villagers as who to vanish, and he's the one who pulls names from the hat for werewolf/seer powers, but he also can't vote.
The number of seer or werewolves is usually dependent on the number of total players. Probably best not to set a certain value until we see how much interest there is.
Typically on forums, I've only seen this done in RP form. Would we be doing it RP as well?
Anyway, I'd love to do this if enough people are interested. I'd volunteer to be the judge, since I've actually organized these things a few times before. One certain time we had everyone online at once one night- it was an awesome event.

I've never done it as a Role play, but I guess that could be fun.
It's also alright with me if you want to be the host or whatever. :)
I like to play. :P

Awesome.
So. People. Any interest here? Just say so in this topic, I guess, if so. Not so much a contest as a game anyway, and you don't need to be an experienced role-player by any means. If we even do that.
But let's get a head count for now

What, what? Only four? Come on people!
...Is there any chance we could rename this topic to something more suiting, and that will attract the attention of people who don't necessarily care about hypothetical contests?
