It's a pretty new/old anime. Came out in 1997, I think.
ADV films was the maker in America. The first season consisted of 50 episodes, and a movie.
There are also two sequel seasons after that one, but made by a different company so some of the voice actors changed. So far, it's a great series, I haven't finished it yet. I think I need to see 8 more episodes, and the movie.

| Saiyuki is the story of four anti-heroes: the monk Genjyo Sanzo (or just "Sanzo"), the monkey demon Son Goku, the half-demon Sha Gojyo, and the man turned demon Cho Hakkai (formerly known as Cho Gonou).
