We all know a few shows like this: It had a really promising concept, but due to poor execution of the story, bad animation, or some other reason it didn't live up to its potential. If you could remake one anime like this to fix its problems, which one would you pick, and what parts of it would you change?

I would probably remake gundam just with out the humans, That's would be awesome. Just a Robot vs robot.

Or SonicX, duo to it was horrible with the humans and voice actors.

Come on. World hopping is an awesome concept. The OP was cool. I enjoy non-linear plots. But still. There are so many things I'd change it wouldn't be recognizable anymore. *sigh*

It would've been nice if Trigun was a little longer of a series.

I wouldn't change much with YamiBou, except get rid of those servants of Garagantua as well as that stupid yellow bird thing (*sigh*), possibly get Garagantua to dance less or at least learn to dance better and finally ditch a couple of those lame ecchi scenes. Otherwise I think it was a nice anime.

School Days could have been an excellent tragic romance that I'd recommend to everyone - except that it was loaded with really, really lame ecchi. Swimming pool episode... :baka:

I would remake Nagasarete Airantou to include the best part of the manga: I'm naked. Isn't that great? My breasts...

And not because of that, but because that whole chapter is awesome and was my first introduction to the awesomeness that is Machi.

Nanoha without the fanservice?

I suppose something could also be done with Shuffle, but all that springs to mind is stripping out everything before the Kaede arc (dubious because you need a bit of a 'slow boil' effect for that to work properly). Also, I suspect a similar heavy pruning would improve my view of Gurren Lagann rather a lot. And Lucky Star should perhaps be divided into the bit with Akira and the bit without, to stop its humour level flatlining when the other bit is on.

Overall, though, it's Nanoha I'd rework.

I'd make alot more references to what happened in Persona 3 in Persona trinity soul. plus, i'd make connection the whale/nyx avatar connection alot more obvious

That's impossible. The plot, characters and also the everything are all forms of fanservice. That's why it's great. The only thing I'd change is the balance so it included more service for fans like me.

Di Gi Charat.
New animation companies PLEASE. I hate the animation for every single Di Gi Charat series under the sun. Winter Garden's was nice-ish, but WG does not count because WG sucked otherwise (well, Puchiko managed to be amusing, but still). :<

Aaaaaand uh. I must reiterate my wish to see Rozen Maiden animated by Kyoto Animation. RM's regular animation was generally nice, but there were a lot of wonky areas, and the style changed a lot (especially near the end of Traumend). Plus, they always did Jun's hair megas funky.

I'd remake Rozen Maiden to make it much more true to the manga.

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned Air. It really needs a longer remake so things don't feel so rushed, just like Kanon got.

Rozen Maiden: The dolls pilot giant robots, which are used in Alice battles. Also, make Jun wear a collar.

Macross: Give it the same animation quality as Macross: Do You Remember Love?, or most modern anime.

Hokuto no Ken: The crappy animation and horrible subtitles are fine, but I wish they didn't re-use same said crappy animation in every other episode.

Urusei Yatsura: Moar Ryuunosuke. She's the most awesome character in the show, especially in combination with her father.

Hidamari Sketch: At some point, however brief, show the Principal piloting a giant kickass robot.

This just makes me imagine Swizzy as the Queen of Limbo. I want to play tic-tac-toe NOW, desu.
