Hey u notice that the manga and anime are alot differnt not a little alot like theey show gin sittin on the side when noones there but she gose under the covers but on anime she never dose that and when boku dies kira comes like after that and when she dies on anime bara there!whats up with that really.i cant buy the manga alot -______-.oh and kira and bara and in anime dus desu says so manga says yes and in anime (subed) shes says desu-_____-

Suigintou1101 - June 15, 2008 06:48 PM (GMT)
Desu part she says yes in manga and she says so in anime -______________-

Suiseiseki is nicknamed "desu" because that is what she adds to the end of her sentences, in both manga and anime. The differences you notice are simply because different people have chosen to translate it differently. The German version uses "bitte", if I remember correctly, and other language versions may have used other approaches.

As for differences in general... yes, they are different. But that's because the anime branched off from the manga after a few episodes. I mean, much of the manga (as far as I know) hadn't even been written when they were animating it - long shounen series tend to make up filler episodes when they don't have enough material to animate, but RM instead used the interesting method of making up its own drastically different storyline (which I respect it a lot for).
It does kinda converge towards the manga with Träumend, but I still don't think there's that much point in thinking of them as the same story, overall.

I've noticed that as well. thing that bugs me is that they only had kirashuisu in one seen in the whole 14 eps of the anime, on the last ep. maybe its planning for a 3rd season or some thing.

If Japan finds out that there will be no third season, they'll murder the animators with white rose vines and a little Booh Bear with knife

I'm wondering about one thing - is what happening in Ouverture canon for the manga?

SuiginxDosei - September 13, 2008 07:02 PM (GMT)
Hmmm, I don't really think so. Ouverture shows an abandoned, incomplete Gin, rejected by Rozen. In the manga, Gin is complete, but her wings cause her back to crack. Gin's hatred for Shinku isn't explained in the manga =/

Also, Gin in Anime somehow looks more noble and more menacing.
Suigintou in Manga seems to be more like a wicked child than an angel of vengeance.

But in vol.6, I think, when she confuses Jun with Father in her dream, she says she's not pretty at all, so I believe she deeply inside knows her flaws, and would like to change them.

Well, it still doesn't make here anything like she was in Anime.
She looks a bit similar, but is another character.
In anime she's high, menacing, beautiful, noble and ladylike. And she giggles.
In manga she's small, silly, loud and obnoxious. And she laughs like a horse. I'm pretty sure that she would be a very annoying character if she would make into the anime unchanged :P .
She isn't even scary.

Anyway, I'm reading the manga now and I like it a lot more than the anime - a lot of things make more sense and better explained than in anime. Also, I like its plot more  .

Merines Shinku - September 20, 2008 03:45 AM (GMT)
I like the manga better though, it's more exciting and makes more sense, no replica doll and crazy dollmaker (although Rozen is already included as crazy but oh well...)

It's true that Suigintou is not as mean in the manga BUT she's still the meanest...

Well, I think that she is more mean in manga than in anime :P . Also, I think that psycho-Souseiseki is the meanest :D .

I like manga!Swiggy, but I think all in all, I prefer the anime. The art in the manga is best, but... Shinku and Jun seem to get a lot of nice character development over the two seasons, which I really like.

Delight - September 21, 2008 12:56 AM (GMT)
I prefer the Shinku and Jun development in manga. It seems to be more healthy (i.e. Jun isn't a lolicon) and more realistic (Jun struggles against his psychological problems instead of getting magically cured during a dream fight.).
Also, the mythos of the manga is much more thought out.

BTW. I don't know why, but some motives in the manga make me expect that everyone will turn into an orange tang XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD .

Cafechan - September 21, 2008 02:38 AM (GMT)
True about the psychological fight, I agree with that, but IT'S NOT LOLICON AHHHHH

Shinku is like hundreds of years old!
Therefore, SHE is the true pedo! >: D

Uh, LOL wot

But anyway... I dunno. I like both the anime and the manga. They both have advantages and disadvantages, and there are parts of each that I prefer and dislike.

HILARIOUS MENTAL IMAGES.

Also, am I the only one who thought the anime made a lot more sense? :/ I just had trouble following the manga.

I think that the manga makes more sense.

I started re-watching the series and I have noticed how much the anime relies on music to set the mood.
Particularly the opening with weird allusions to oral sex (isn't the story, like about a 12 year old teenager and a 5 year old looking doll? squicky :erm: !) pushes an expectation for some bizarre S&M love relationship.
Also there's that depressing music box-style music that appears during sad or dramatic moments and makes them more sad and overdramatic - I find this music particularly pushy.

Anyway, I prefer manga - somehow everything there feels more natural.

SuiginxDosei - October 20, 2008 07:05 PM (GMT)
I love all 3 RM openings, and all the OSTs (especially Battle of the Rose, Bara no Chikai and Bara no Jubai). But truth, the lyrics to Kinjirareta Asobi and Seishoujo Ryouiki have nothing to do with the story. Baragoku Otome reminds me of Suigin Tou's story in some parts, though

I do prefer the manga storyline, you just can't beat it. But I prefer the anime character development (besides Shinku, who looks totally self-centered and extremely cold in the anime, especially in the 1st season :>.<: )

When I watched the series, I always found the lyrics of the first RM opening a very fitting description of Jun/Shinku relationship in the anime  .
