Title: Code Geass

StarionX - May 25, 2008 10:04 PM (GMT)
Has anyone here watched or are currently watching Code Geass. I like the way this storyline works out. Kinda feels like a soap opera though.

If anyone is interested, the english dub airs on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim at 1:00am EST Saturday/Sunday. (I know, the time slot sucks)

I don't think the voices for the most part are too, too bad. Some are plain annoying, but I think the others are pretty good, and match well.

Uh-huh. I've finished all the Code Geass that are currently out, except the latest episode...8, I believe?

I love the design. CLAMP's doing a brilliant job as usual, but seeing Syaoran (well, same difference) spining around in Lancelot and a copy of one of the vampire twins trying to take over the world is kinda wierd...

C.C. and kallen are hawt...

Mech usually bores me to tears but this anime has me hooked - right from the first episodes.

I like how it has a real, complex plot. It's a lot like Death Note.

It's a lot like Death Note.

Interesting comparison, as, like Death Note, it turned me off very quickly.

I watched an ep, and was generally rather "eh" throughout it, but decided it was droppable after a scene where our protagonist kills a group of random faceless minions (who were probably just doing their jobs), and the anime seemed to expect me to cheer or be impressed. Which I wasn't, since faceless minions don't have the power for you to achieve anything if they die - unless what you're after is a high widows-and-orphans count. =P

Since I heard it was also strong on the nationalism and that the protagonist doesn't get more likable, I classed it as "I doubt I'd like this" and didn't bother further investigating. ^^

The main character's actions get more and more questionable throughout the series. It's not meant to be a "Hurrah for the shining good guy!" anime.

I like it where it's hard to know who's right and what anyone's real motives are.

Indeed. There is no good or bad guy here. It's like Death Note, like Nemui said. You can support either side, but nobody's really right.

Now the more I look at it, the more C.C. looks like the rain sprite (especially during the Geass v.s. Geass arc) in XxxHolic, and Nunnally looks like Kohane-chan...

Also check out realitylapse.com

They have all of the first season and they are up to episode 10 in R2. These come from an independant server. Only setback is that there are a few pop-up windows to get around.

You can also get both seasons of Rozen Maiden as well, among other things.
