Maybe its just me, but I would rather not AA something, I feel it takes away from the pixel idea, I like it to look a little square-y and thin.

i never told people to AA... these tutorials are just if people want to AA something... this is how its done... its a good skill to learn because sometimes it makes things better sometimes worse.
what you bring up is a completly differnt topic and discusion

Very good! Now i think you should add an example to show people how to aa two different colors, and finding those AA colors for them. AA-ing black and white is all well and good, but not very usable ;)

most pixel art games (especially snes and up) all use AA of some sort. I rarely draw a piece without utilizing it myself. I dont think it takes away from what pixel-art is. Pixel-Art is essentially making the best of your restrictions, whether that means to AA by hand, or to dither alot, etc.
