To The NinesNapalm 2009
Ample in carnage and creativity alike, extreme metal opus, "To The Nines" is a work of unprecedented, clinical excellence. Intensely infectious and scalpel-sharp in delivery, the dynamic Danish quintet's latest, innovative offering truly defies definition.
Featuring a relentless succession of abrasive bass grooves, caustic vocal exertions and razor-wire riffs, "Backstabber" is a menacing, graphically-realised affair. With its high-octane chord progressions and thrash-tinged hooks, title track, "To The Nines" delivers a potentially devastating dose of adrenalin. Hate-filled anthem, "Clarity" exudes an uncommonly contagious sound quality forged from unmistakably death metal-inspired, percussive intricacy.
Accompanied by a choice selection of tortured screams and bestial snarls, "Cloaked In Shit" is obscenely compelling, while "Aurora's" ambient nuances illustrate an astounding capacity for innovation. Partially instrumental interlude, "Commencing A Campaign" exhibits still greater symphonic sophistication and structure, as its majestic solos escalate to an awe-inspiring, theatrical climax.
Savage yet utterly mesmerising, "To The Nines" is a gore-stricken, sonically groundbreaking masterwork.
