Title: Lamentful Miss CDJapan Interview

ManaVampire - October 5, 2006 02:04 AM (GMT)
If you haven't been there or read it yet, a new interview with Mana for Lamentful Miss came out today. I was pleasantly surprised and interested in a few things he had to say in this one. It was interesting to learn that Mana knows nothing about music theory or writing and reading music. XD

That was a great interview! i really liked reading that, especially the part where he spoke out to his male fans telling them to just come out to the concert and have fun. If Mana holds a concert in Canada, I would deffinetly go to the concert, and it wouldn't matter to me how many girls attrended. At least half (or maybe more)of my friends are female. Thanks for the post!

Good read. :)

Can't wait to get my hands on the cd. ^_^
Or for that matter getting my hands on the "Nocturnal Opera", the digipack edition with previous singles on it like "forbidden" which I haven't heard yet.

Even though I have all the Japanese releases of the Moi dix Mois CDs, I'd still kill for that European release of N.O. as well. XD

I loved reading that interview. It's really great when musicians talk about the process they go through to make their music. And I was interested to hear that Mana does not know theory - because MdM's music has always struck me as being quite carefully constructed and... well, "theoretical", really!

About the single... I though that Seth's voice suffered a bit in the mix, that he didn't come out as strongly as he should have done, it would be nice to hear a bit more of his power in singing, the vocals were a little quiet and I'm sure that's not because he can't sing loudly, lol. The title track is nice, although it doesn't really stand out for me above other MdM songs, also I thought the guitars could have had more interest considering it's supposed to be a more guitar-based album rather than synthe... Perish I have to say I did not like at all, wtf have they done with it?! :( but Forbidden was better than the original IMO, it had more punch and I like the loud/soft contrasts. :)
