First off, I know this is a Mana, Malice Mizer, Moi dix mois, forum, so appologies if any offense taken. This is the only J-rock forum I belong to (yea, and applying the term J-rock to Mana's current work is a stretch to say the least, lol)

But while looking at vids on you tube, of Versailles (my second favorite J rock group), I learned their bassist, Jasmine You, got sick enough to be hospitalized.

Any one know of this, and any further developments?

This was a comment on the video of him chatting away on the street....in full costume:) It looked fun.

I really hope he'll get better and still be able to perform... I love Versailles for their music, but when I had met them, the only one that REALLY stuck out to me was Jasmine You -- simply because he had a really sweet personality. He was so down to earth and friendly and didn't seem to be hit by an ego monster. I love Jasmine, so I sincerely hope all the best for him. Get well soon!!

It sounds very ominous.

In one entry from the band members there was something about paying for actions. This kinda intoned to me that Jasmine may have done something not so wise.

The way they are very hush hush, is probably just out of respect.

I hope he recovers though. I like him, and Versailles would definitely change without him there.

That's so sad! Jasmine You never really attracted my attention but still... By listening to Versailles's music, I knew that he is a good bassist so I know that if he's not there, Versailles will never be the same, just as Pythos said...

I just saw this.

This is really sad. I was just starting to hear their stuff, and I loved his look out of all of them, cause you could tell he was having a ball. Their music is too different to compare to :mana: 's, so there is no "better". What sucks as well, is in a manner of speaking the band had just gotten their wheels off the ground and were skyward to say the least.

Well, we will always have his bass in the back round of their wonderful music, and his few but fun videos on you tube, and the DVDs.

Of course I am curious what caused this though. Was he overworked? Stressed out to the point of heart explosion, or was it the swine flu?

This just sucks.

Kind of selfish part here. I wonder how this will effect other people of the genre, not just limited to members of Versailles.

Jasmines' appearance was my favorite of the band.

If I had a group of friends that wanted to cosplay the group, I would have done Jasmine. For me that says a lot of what I think of someone's presentation.

Wow this kind of news is always hard to take in, especially when it is concerning someone as vibrant and alive as JY. I really like Versailles and feel for their (and everyone's) loss. Terrible :(

Just to let everyone know, on August 22, there will be a few vigils for dear Jasmine.
There is one planned for LA at Weller park and the other in NYC at Kinokuniya bookstore.

There might be others planned, not really sure but I want to have one in Seattle at our Kinokuniya.

That is my thought on the situation.

The vigils were held coast to coast yesterday evening (Aug. 22)
We managed to put a small one together for the Seattle group as well. It was a very pleasant vigil and even though it was full of tears, we all left with a sense of happiness and togetherness.
