I am planning on getting the Mdm pennant, as well as Versailles newest album.

However, I wanted to get some feedback on how reliable CD japan is.

My benchmark is Amazon, which has had very good service aside from the bootlegs I got from 2nd party sellers through Amazon.

I plan on replacing the three Mdm bootlegs I got, with the genuine articles over the next several months.

Has anyone had any kind of issues with them, or related privacy issues?

CDJapan has always given me great and timely service and their selection is good too.

The only thing bad I can say about CDJapan is that it's hideously expensive if it gets caught in toll. ><
Japan is the only country I've met where you risk paying at least 50% toll if it gets caught...

I've emailed them about stuff several times and they reply very fast and are helpful.
The shipping isn't always as long as they state either.

also, keep an eye on the exchange rates, as the yen price is fixed, the price you pay in dollars depends directly on what the exchange rate is between the two currencies, you could save a lot of money by waiting a month or two, depending...

CDJapan is great! I bought the Moi dix Mois rucksack pretty recently from them, and I was planning on getting the pendant, but there was an extra 2 week wait on that. (So you might have to wait a bit). But they were very quick in replying to my emails and the shipping was fast :)
