Title: Your First Moi dix Mois CD: Impression

Pythos - June 5, 2009 11:26 PM (GMT)
Nocturnal Opera

I was totally not expecting it to arrive so soon. Up till now the only way I was able to hear the music was online. I love to hear the music I listen to, in my Mini cooper, the sound system in it is just impressive.

So I finally got to hear Mana's creations through the speakers of this little car.

Wow. Just wow.

I began to listen to It like an opera (the German or Italian ones where you can't understand a word of what is spoken ;)) and just listen to the music.

One of the more striking thing for me was the clarity of the "death voice". Creepy, and chilling to say the least....love it.

Another was the power of the organ, that just makes this music so much more than the run of the mill tune out there.

I think it will be fun to see my friend's reaction to this. I am sure it will be a love or hate kind of thing, and most likely the hate being due to the language barrier, so over time, it will grow on them *evil grin*.

They also might get a chuckle out of either Mana, or whoever it is that does the ending statement in Monophobia. Georgous line but it is in Engrish "The onry ray to get aray flom roneriness is to rove it" (I have some ignorant friends), and this comes through crystal clear on the Mini's speaker system.

I am anxiously awaiting pageant, Dix Infernal, ah heck all the others.

I am certainly getting them, as well as Malic Mizer's Bara no seidou even if the latter is nearly 70 dollars.

It has been a while since I found an artist who's work I like almost the entirety of.

Edit: Added the album title since the thread title has be changed after merging.

'tis a great cd indeed. ^^

Never have been able to hear that famous sentence in Monophobia though.
It's just such a low whisper I can't hear a thing of it. :P

Nocturnal Opera was also my first CD from them ^^. It is in a very bad condition now, because it was taken it maybe 10000 times during several years and it was not new when i bought it. I think i should buy new copy of it because that is a shame on me to show my friends Nocturnal Opera i own xD. I think you should have a different version of it because mine is European version together with singles. Yeah, i heard that engrish and i couldn't understand what he sings about.. so i had to look at lyrics xDD.

Will you have Dix Infernal? I don't have it, but i have Scars Of Sabbath (that is weird i have a DVD but not CD from that time xDD). There are so many nice things i want to buy, and so little money to buy them...

is that when he whispers "the only way to get away from loneliness is to love it"?
lol i like that part cos it reminds me of scooby doo "re ronery ray ro get rary rom roneriness is to rove it"

Yes, it is just near the end of Monophobia, and it is only rumors that it is Mana, for all we know it is Juka, or one of the others.

I have had Asian friends and they all have a hell of a time pronouncing l and rs, so I am quite used to it. It is just less informed people I think would have a hard time.

I am not a native english speaker, i rarely speak english in real life so i think i have all the rights not to know about characteristic of japanese engrish. I just know how japanese speak my mother language and i know it is so hard to understand them, because they transform our words in a total japanese sound <_< .

I think Mana sings near the end of Monophobia.

ITS MANA'S VOICE AT THE END OF MONOPHOBIA!!!

JUKA DOESN'T SOUND THAT RETARDED! :mudkip2:

That's terrible Izumi!!! :)

You should be put in the penalty box. Maybe it will help with your musical inclinations, like a certain someone.

This is possibly because of the newness, but I am finding with the acquisition of Nocturnal Opera I just want to hear it. Not quite over and over, but when I get in the mood for music, it is NO that gets played.

Even old Ozzy pales in comparison (Though Diary of a madman, and the opening of Mr Crowley are still up there as far as faves.)

It might have to do with Mdm's use of instruments I love to hear the tones of, complex pipe organ, and or harpsichord.

Anyone else experience this?

moidixmizer - June 7, 2009 05:46 PM (GMT)
all the time, i go through periods when i listen to the same song over and over and over, this was espcially the case with metaphysical and also things like unmoved and monophobia. also strangely with a lapis nights dream

so yeah your not alone i know how you feel :P

xit - June 7, 2009 05:53 PM (GMT)
I've had that feeling as well. :)

The worst case was the song Opium by Moonspell, was on repeat for an entire day. XD

Izumi - June 7, 2009 06:18 PM (GMT)
Hell yes!
Street of Alice by Velvet Eden is like... my favourite album <33 <33 <33

I have the worst habit of overplaying music.
I swear I permanently damaged my Cradle of Filth CD's! I have a scratch on my Thornography CD where the track for "Foetus of a New Day Kicking" is on the disc. I played the drum track 6 times a day for 2 months straight. That is the only song I love on that whole album........sigh

Immortal Angel - June 8, 2009 08:29 AM (GMT)
I use to hear some songs 30 times in a row, lol thats nothing strage ^^ Its about the feeling/atmosphere the song provides ... I think.

If you've ever read the MdM Paris Concert Review on this forum, you will see that I am allowed to say such things

Edit: There were two similar threads about impressions on Moi dix Mois CDs so I merged them.

Manic Macabre - October 9, 2009 06:23 AM (GMT)
Nocturnal Opera was also my first MdM CD.

It was by far the most unique thing I had ever heard at the time. Every single track was (and still is) amazing. It changed me forever. 8D
