For the past few months I've been receiving messages from some "offline" MSN contacts (who also happen to be members of this forum) pointing to some links to different sites, e.g. "Wow check out this awesome link" or "Found some pictures of you naked", etc.

If you get some of those messages, don't click on the links! Your computer is safe as long as you don't click on them. It's actually your contact's computer that has been infected.

It's actually a worm which opens a back door on the infected computer.. Make sure your anti-virus is up to date and scan your computer.

Also, you get those messages from someone you don't talk to I suggest to simply block or delete them and if it's someone you are usually in contact with you should notify them.

Here's the information about the worm.

ROFL, I remember when I got that, liek, last year. Luckily, it's pretty easy to remove if you're willing to stay off MSN for as long as it takes for your anti-virus to pick up the worm. From my experience, it really doesn't effect anything unless you sign into MSN. But then, it only took about a week for AVG to recognize the worm, so it may not have had time to do much more damage than that.

My computer isn't infected as far as I'm aware (I scan it regularly and even checked in entries in the registry). I posted this because I just got another of those messages but from a different member this time so I thought I should let you know.

my pc's actually full with bugs and there is no anti-virus/malware/spyware/etc that fix it completely...

i need to reset completely my pc, but i need to save my collection of archives/images and music first :/

also... i have get link/messages too from someone else of the forums.

As I remember you actually have to log in (on the webpage) to get the virus...

Tried logging in with a bogus account, and nothing happened. :P
Have scanned with a couple of different scanners, and so far nothing...

But yeah, do be careful. :)

I hope you didn't get such messages from my account. I remember when i got messages on my gmail from my own email, but i changed a password and everything got better =D.
