Title: Limited Edition Mana x Moi dix Mois Necklaces!
Description: Review type thing...

ManaVampire - December 17, 2008 05:22 AM (GMT)
I'm sure many of you already noticed the limited edition Mana necklaces that were posted last week and then immediately taken down. XD

CDJapan Claims they will be back up early this week but I'm still wondering if that is going to happen...so in the mean time I thought maybe I could share some information with all of you about them. I had ordered one as soon as they were released and was fortunate enough to receive mine today (really, I don't know how it happened. Everyone else's order was put on delay...). If you're interested in buying one when they come back, you might want to read this!

First of all, here is the link to the accessories CDJapan:
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/jpop/essentials/m...ccessories.html

I got the Capricus version:

The necklace itself is actually a lot smaller than I had expected.
By the pictures provided on CDJapan I had assumed the charms on the necklaces would be fairly large (similar to the Moi dix Mois pendant, or the infamous Moi-meme-Moitie cross necklaces Mana often wears). I also though the necklace chain would be similar in structure and length to that of the Mon+Amour fanclub pendants, but I learned as soon as I opened the package that these necklaces are actually quite different.

The charm (or the Capricus part) is moderately small with a lot of detail. If you're worried about the symbolizism within these charms (as they might be a little too desecrating for some) I wouldn't really worry too much about that, because the necklace is honestly small enough as to where most people PROBABLY aren't going to pay too much attention to it.

Another thing is that the necklace chain is fairly short and small. I would say a little bit thicker than a typical necklace, but definitely nothing heavy weight. This necklace really makes for a good small accessory but don't expect it to be anything too flashy that will capture everyone's attention instantly.

However, its still extremely nice. The details are beautiful and I personally see it as a perfect sized necklace that serves useful for almost any attire.

I hope this gives more of you an idea of what to expect out of these new Mana accessories. Even though they're pricey, I do recommend them. :mana:

I just browsed them. They're very cool looking (I liked the earrings the most) and it's good that they're very detailed, but they're too expensive. :(

I think they're something for more hardcore fans (like you Sarah :P).

xit - December 17, 2008 03:15 PM (GMT)
Insanely expensive. >_<

But I really like the skull pendant. <33
Still, way too expensive.

Astral Romance - December 17, 2008 04:46 PM (GMT)
The accessories are too expensive. I can buy almost the same things in gothic shop and don't pay hundreds of euros or dolars...

I don't like these accessories, i just prefer different style. I hate gothic loli things but i also dont like such style as this one. Those accessories look so funny! I just prefer more extreme style... like piercing or metal chockers, handcufs, metal melts and such xD. metal metal metal... darn, i like dimmu borgir xD

But, congrats, Sarah! It is nice, you like your pedant^^

Evangeline - December 17, 2008 06:25 PM (GMT)
I dont like them either. I agree with what Astral Romance said, You can find similair things for a cheaper price in your local gothic shops.

Though, i thought the earrings looked nice But they are way too expensive for me. And they dont look THAT special to pay so much for.

Grottesca - December 17, 2008 10:15 PM (GMT)
I ordered the same one, and I am pleased that this seems to be smaller than I thought. I was worried this necklace would be huge and long. So I am fine with the result ^_^

I am still jealous you`ve got yours already |DD

I love Dimmu Borgir too :D
I tend to favor Alchemy Gothic Jewelery for most of my accessories.

sweet_decadence - December 18, 2008 04:02 AM (GMT)
I saw them awhile ago.

They're kinda expensive for silver jewellery and it all looked to masculine for my tastes. When i first saw them, the first thing i noticed is how much they look like something by Alchemy Gothic.

Hmmmm, the collection would look good on a guy.

Am I the only person who doesnt like them?
Compared to other moitie jewellery.............. these fail

I wish he'd get his fricken act together!

xit - December 18, 2008 06:38 PM (GMT)
Yeah, they look like something from Alchemy Gothic.
Then again I also consider stuff from Alchemy Gothic highly expensive for something only made from pewter (usually).

No you're not, I don't like them either and besides they're insanely expensive.

This and the issue of a European version of his latest DVD increases my impression he badly needs money.

Astral Romance - December 18, 2008 10:26 PM (GMT)
i also think Mana just needs money for.. Christmas gifts? xD

I think it is weird that european version of DVD is out now. I think all MDM fans already have it, so why Mana has decided to make a european version of it? Many fans buy that DVD only to get an autograph and so do i.

lips_blood_red - December 19, 2008 02:00 AM (GMT)
wow! expensive as hell!!

anyway i think the skull earrings are gorgeous!!! and the skull pendant! my least favorite was the capricus... (too much references to religion, so i prefer pass..)

mmm... i think they're too much expensive to be silver, and the design, even if i like it, it's sorta cliche design for these type of jewerly...

i wonder what are Mana doing?

losing creativity?

is he getting old?

early male menopause?

porcelainmaiden - December 19, 2008 06:00 AM (GMT)
I was kinda expecting something grand and amazing......
Weird that Mana would release these...
They are veeeery masculine.

Going off the track?

Panicking?

Early male menopause : oh, come on, he'll only be 40 in March (I'm 95 per cent sure of it) and that's too early for decay, isn't it?

LeCiel - December 19, 2008 11:49 PM (GMT)
These pieces are definitely different, but that's good, no? I like them, and the Capricus one was my favorite, though I do agree that they could be offensive to a lot of people and they are way too expensive, especially if they are small. Very cool grab, though, Sarah. Enjoy :)

yes, too much early so that's why i said early man manopause  i'm sure too he doesnt reach the 40's yet, maybe i should say... too much early (not in time) male menopause XDDD

Astral Romance - December 22, 2008 09:19 AM (GMT)
I am sure he will be 22 on march.
nobody can be sure how old he is.

ManaVampire - December 23, 2008 06:25 AM (GMT)
I know none of this is aimed towards me, but I'm feeling really bad for posting any of this. ): I'm sorry guys...I don't know, I feel I should apologize or something. All these comments feel extremely attacking. (>_<)v

But anyway, whether you like them or not, I don't think this particularly has anything to do with Mana's creativity or not. This IS after all Mana's interests and style. Sure he creates Moitie, but you have to remember he IS a man and I think he has every right to create masculine jewelery, and since he is extremely fond of gothic things I can understand where hes coming from making this stuff. I think Mon+Amour members should considerably understand this since many of you should know his tastes by now, and a lot of that taste (when looking at pictures of his home and the things he buys and takes pictures of) is very Alchemy gothic.

I know I sound like I'm all "ZOMG DONT HURT MANAAA" which is not particularly what I was aiming for. I'm just saying whether you enjoy Mana's more elegant side or not, this actually portrays his more realistic interests much more than anything else. I have to admit, I was never too fond of the jewelry myself but now that I have the necklace I've really grown an attachment to it and I don't think its nearly as "BAWWW" in real life as you guys are making it out to be.

Just remember, what you see as "generic gothic" isn't particularly what a Japanese person such as Mana sees as generic gothic. In Japan, the "gothic" fad is much closer to things such as H.Naoto and Putumayo, not Hot Topic and those other teeny bopper shops we see in the west. This is actually somewhat of a creative piece of work for him even if many of you don't see it as such.

porcelainmaiden - December 23, 2008 07:35 AM (GMT)
I don't think we were aiming to attack these new pieces, I think a lot of us were just intruiged in the fact that Mana decided to release such striking pieces, and for such a high price.

Ahhh, I do miss ye olde days of Hot Topic when you could actualy buy good quality gothic fashions there. That was so long ago.....think early to mid 90's.....

I like them. ^^
Then again I am a man. :P

Still think they're insanely expensive, but apart from that...

lips_blood_red - December 27, 2008 12:56 AM (GMT)
i also like them, the axes hanging in the earrings are like :K2: the only thing is about the price, it's unreal, even for me, i can have a replica in silver for much less than that, and i can even have a better design in silver paying less than that, that's all.

Manic Macabre - December 30, 2008 02:16 AM (GMT)
They look so amazing, but they're so expensive!

Why am I not surprised though. XD

And I want one of those neclaces so badly now! It's not fair. DDDDX
