**This is ONLY concerning the main website of Mana-sama.net, not the forums!!**

For quite a long time now, I feel like I've been neglecting the main part of the website because there hasn't really been too much new information to update about. Also, the only places I've really been paying a lot of attention to are the forums and the major updates on the front page.

I would like to take some time out and make Mana-sama.net a really amazing website filled with things other fans would like to see and completely up to date with information useful to everyone.

Of course all the Mana and band information would stay up as it is, but places such as the "Midi: Nette", "Moi-meme-Moitie", "Mon+Amour" and MANY other sections could really use a good update with expanded information and such. I already have a few things in my mind I'm playing with that I would like to do and I wont lie, its really going to take me a while to accomplish it all.

In the mean time, I don't want to use just my ideas because this website isn't really providing information for ME since I'm the one writing it...its for the sake of everyone else who has an interest in things that have to do witih Mana.

I have a series of questions I really want the forum members to fill out because you guys are really the most active ones here and your views are important to me. So here are the survey questions you can fill out and post as a reply to this thread:

If you are confused by some of the questions, I'll explain them here:

3. This means...the quality of the information provided. I know some sections are very lacking in information that I could add more to. Is there any section you would specifically like to see more information added to? An example would be more general information or an FAQ to the Moitie section. Think of the sections of the website and areas where people generally want to find more information about. Are people interested in more terms of Midi: Nette (considering employment opportunities or contact details)? Do they need to know more information about sizes of Moitie outfits? Would you like to see full discographies for Malice Mizer and Moi dix Mois?
There are TONS of things I could touch up on, but what is the most important to you as a fan and a reader?


4. Are there any sections you would like to see added to the website? Things such as a fan section where people can submit art, photos, etc or sections of the website dedicated to Mana's past musical career? There are a wide variety of sections that could be added, but once again, I want to know what is most important to fans.

6. This one is a very iffy, but I want to know the interest within the idea. Would users be interested interactive applications such news letters to their email inboxes, chats located on the website, or a place to "join" the website (rather than just forums) and have your own area such as a blog, photo upload area with commenting options, etc? Like I said, I don't know the probability of this working right now because I would have to look into more coding options, but if it does become an option, would it be something of interest?

That there’s a link to the forum. Use it every time I forget the address to the forum itself.

2. How would you feel about a new style layout or is there anything special you would like to see added on to this website (concerning the general appearance of the website)?
I know that blue and black is Mana’s colours, but it makes navigating the site a real bugger. It’s so bloody hard to see/read the text. I usually do a Ctrl+a to highlight everything, then I can see where to click.
So to conclude it I’d love a new colour layout.
Besides that there are certain sections (like the Malice Micer section) where you have to use horizontal scrolling to actually see everything. This is really annoying. But apart from that I don't have anything against it.

Like you said yourself: more info about Moitie like clothes sizes. Hum, what about some reviews of the clothes? Full discography of the bands would also be nice.

A lyrics section would be nice. :)

Don’t really care.

Personally I think the forums are enough. But it might garner more visitors if there were such stuff.

More frequent updates might encourage people to visit more often. Of course, that’s not going to happen if there isn’t anything new to update...

Now this site is just blue (i mean tooo much blue). I know Mana likes blue and black but there are many other interesting variations of the colors. All the colors you have chosen for site are too much cold.

I am not interested in this very much, but it would be interesting if there were a section of Mana-Sama cosplayers and more Mana humour.

Maybe it is a bit random, but if you would like to add news about Mana or his projects on this site, i think that you had to do it very fast because people want to get info and if they don't get it on this site they go to another site and when the news are written on this site they are not interested to read them because they already have known them.

I think it is enough for this site to have a forum. I am not sure if something more would be popular...

More cosplay, more fanart, more fanfictions, more crazy captions, more Mana Chuck Noris jokes, more funny cosplay videos, more interesting info about Mana.

Maybe a revamp.
Like... A little inspiration of layout from Mana's original sites. but obviously, not ripping the initial images.
Maybe a few animations... special effects?

I think the gallery could be expanded a little, like with lesser known pictures (not Madousho though!!)

Maybe with the FAQ, you could put a few humorous/wacky things about Mana too.

Links could be updated, some dont work for me, i dont know if im the only one to experience this

Someone mentioned a Moitie gallery of past items. I think that would be rather cool. haven't seen anything like that any where online before. I think Even if you too submissions from people who own Moitie items too, as long as they're good, clear pictures, that could help that idea.

Lyrics. Maybe even English translations, if we all worked together on that. A lot of sites i find have Spanish/Italian translations instead of English.

I like the forum. Its quite active. Group chats happen occaisionally so I think this section is ok.

I don't care so much about the layout, but the colours >_< the blue can be heard to make out against the black, I usually end up hilighting what i wan to click.

Even though you said no to galleries, I think galleries of the christmas specials would be good along with more infor on Moitie.

I think something like a basic mana Q&A would be quite good. You have no idea how offen i've seen people thinking mana owns the Gothic & Lolita Bible or that his name is Manabu (sounds like a drink).

Wouldn't mind much.

out of all the mana fan sites I went to, it was one of the first on my favorites list just because it felt really official and professional and the layout was really nice.

I like the layout, but I think that it could use updating. Like a differnt picture for the backround...

well, you mentioned an aesthetics translation section and I was never able to find it. also, maybe you could make a larger photo section somehow? like with coppermine or whatever its called... just because I think this is a site alot of new fans find early on, but there aren't alot of pictures and it can be alot of work to build up a collection.

1.-the forums... talking about Mana's news, old projects or any random things about Mana in a nice atmosphere with nice people. (and the international fact)

2.-I think the layout is ok but sorta old so it could be cool to refresh it, maybe with a concept that encircle all Mana actual projects, like MdM, MmM, M:N in the same layout...

3.-Yes, i think it would be yr idea of adding info to contact Midi:Nette or FAQ about MmM and alos i think it must be a FAQ about M+A for the fans that are thinking about joining M+A but are unsure of do it... and i think i don't need to mention extent the info that already exist about MdM, MM and Mana himself...

4.- I've always thought a good extra section would be about sharing fans experiences about seeing Mana live in a MdM concert or another event, i'd personally love to feel the way you feel as seeing him live and all that stuff, obviously is good the idea of fan art and stuff...

5.-Yes, i'm interested!!... also it would be good having a section of "artists that have work with Mana" instead of a entirely j-rock section as most of the other forums... and there talk about all ex MM and MdM and Swcharzt Stein members besides their pasts and current projects or other artist that someday had worked with him... i'd love to see that :heartbeat:

6.-well i think the forums are actually enough, i must confess i'm a lazy person to write a blog in each website i have, but maybe the chat could be interesting... and faster...

7.-See a diferent Mana picture in every part of the website accord to the section would be lovely :love: ... the smileys i must confess are one of the best things in the forums but if you can add more of these dixsmileys, it would be awesome!

I'm really going to consider the things you guys have said and apply as much as I can according to what the majority of you have said. This is really helpful and you guys have come up with some great ideas and feedback!

Of course more of you are welcome to post your replies to the questions, but I just wanted to say thanks so far for all the answers I've gotten. I've enjoyed reading your responses and really want to apply some of this stuff.

I just wanted to mention though, the only reason I don't want to touch the photo galleries too much with more pictures is because I have had a friend who has been asked before by Midi: Nette to remove her photo galleries. I get the feeling that if they find a website thats easily accessible to them, Mana doesn't really appreciate his photos stolen by websites he hasn't approved of. XD

Mana-Sama.net is by far the best site I know and I'm not interested in looking for any other. ManaVampire, you may definitely be proud because you have succeeded in gathering fans from many different countries, and that's not so easy!

The strong points are forums and FanArt (wonderful artistic skills here!) and this is where Turkwise, Shut up Giggles and Chuck Norris Mana jokes were born and thrived!

Mana-Sama.net = cult = Mana's favourite site (I'm sure he reads it and the reason you never got rapped over the knuckles is because he's grateful for the laughs and first-hand fan reactions he can get here!).

Online translators are worse than anything! Translating word from word always produces either hilarious or totally obscure results, most of the time a combination of both! They only skipped a tiny little detail : it's not only words you translate, it's MEANING!
And the same word in a different context will mean something else, or the same word is a noun AND an adjective (like the word "safe" in English) and the machine is not able to take it into account.

Anyhow, let's keep an eye open in case He makes a telltale mistake, hehehe!
