Description: What say you my fellow dix enthusiasts?
Manic Macabre - September 3, 2008 05:26 PM (GMT)
Well, it's the first day of grade 12 for me, and I have no idea what to expect. I'm feeling both excited, but also nervous. It's my last year in school, and really hope it will be a fun one, with minimal stress.
Any words of encouragement or advice to me? Or care to tell of your high school tales?
Thanks guys!
~Manic Macabre, Team Holy Taco Pink Ranger.

I have been to school .... for 2 days.... really fun because NO-ONE picks on me..... I look rather scary to them..XD...
my girlish way to get off pricks " Don't fight back, just smile and leave them"
Plus my NEW English teacher was surprised by my spelling, grammar and accent... she thought that I was British XD.
encouragement : be yourself, Don't say no to opportunity's, and let them be.... (the three things I have survived on)
Izumi - September 3, 2008 06:53 PM (GMT)
You know, I don't miss school at all.
Though, my last 2 years were voluntary, so I could do my A-levels. Those were the best days of my whole 16 years of schooling XD
Mainly because I was an evil prefect:D
Immortal Angel - September 3, 2008 08:18 PM (GMT)
Today it was the third day of school, the last year of the gymnasium. And at the end we'll have the "matura" from 5 different subjects. We have to take slowene, math and english and 2 where we can decide. I took computers and german.
The good thing about the last year is, that we dont have biology, physics, chemistry and geography anymore.
Less stress.
I hope.
I have school from 07:49 in the morning till 14:06.
And after just 3 days I'm so tired, that I started to sleep at the afternoons again XD
Actualy I should learn about 5 - 6 hours in the afternoon, but I just cant. There is much to much Mana in my thoughts XD <3
Damn, I hope I wont die ...
What doesnt kill you makes you stonger. Thats is SO true!!

I don't miss school at ALL!!!! Advice? Just survive, it will be over soon, then you will 18 and F-R-E-E!!!!!!!! Turning 18 was the best thing that ever happened to me. Because I didn't need to bum cigarettes from my loser friends anymore, so I got to ditch them all finally :D

I am 18.
But nothing changed.
I didnt even have a party for my 18. b-day - there was no time cause of the damn school -.-
And here, I dont have the right friends for a party anyway >.<
porcelainmaiden - September 3, 2008 11:40 PM (GMT)
I am very happy I am done with High School :D
I hated the fact that every time I walked down the hall it was like
"oh! You look like a maid!" or "Did you loose your sheep bo peep?"
Until I showed up in my full goth regalia....people were like "AHH!! SCARY!!"
Politics were fun though, I always won every dispute :)
12th grade was soooo stressful...so....many....projects......... :o
Though I got to hang out with a Taiwanese black metal band! <33 <33
The lead singer helped me with my senior final project on Taiwan hehehe

Awwwww I'm sorry :( that sucks. I'm sure though that once you get out of school and your in a enviroment with only people you like and you arent forced to be with people you don't like for 8 hours a day things will feel better XD
lips_blood_red - September 4, 2008 02:13 AM (GMT)
mmm... Highschool... it's been a long time...
well, here the "highschool" is divided in 2 leves, when you get out od the elementary school the nest 3 years you'll go to "Minor school" or "secondary school" and when you get out, the next 3 years you'll go to the real "high school" or "preparatory school" so you join it when yr 15...
personally i hate the time in "Minor School" i have always been a weirdo and unpopular girl which all the rest of the guys laugh for, also i was always the little girl cause since elementary school i was one year advanced so i joined the minor school when i was 10 years old about to get 11...poor little girl...i used to hate that times but now i'm thankful cause that makes me stronger and independent now...
and the "Preparatory or highschool" i join it when i was 13 about 14...again poor little girl... anyway, in there i accepted i wasn't a normal person and my weirdness came out in it's entire splendour... i joined the theatre group and that gaves me most of the happiest moments in my life, i used to dress in the weirdest fashion you can ever imagine cause i was some sort of hippie-punk-goth weird hybrid and i was very much proud whenever people looked at me with that gazes of "freaky" or "weirdo" and i used to wear my hair with dreadlocks, a high mohawk, or simply leave it lay over my arms on the Janis Joplin style (i had the same spongy hair that she) No i see pics of these times and i ask myself (how could you made that things and now yr shy if you wear lolita and the people look at you!!)
anyway...i don't know how but in someway that made me popular...thare are times when i go to see an old friend or met someone in the street that says "hey we went to the same highschool" and i really don't remember them... that's weird cause i have always been a very much anti-social person that only speak with my weird friends and go to that place to dance and drink to death...
yeh, that times was great, i love to remember my teenage times!! and sometimes i miss them... actually there are much persons that says i'm still a teenage and also the people think i don't have the age i have cause i look younger... maybe that's because i'm still a weirdo...hehehehehehe
but well, highschool's not that bad, when you are there you can still say fuck off everyone!!! and the consequences are not the same as when yr an adult with responsabilities and all...
Moi-Dix-Jasdero - September 4, 2008 03:27 AM (GMT)
I loved/hated high school, seeing none of them had ANY culture what so ever i was picked on a lot. Seeing at first i started as a VK over kill kid then made it slooooowly into lolita.
Actually my school was relieved when i started to dress in lolita because the way i used to dress scared the hell out of them and they VP told me that XDDD
I say just don't care about what people say and make sure to not take any bull shit (please excuse my language) but none of us here deserve to go through that crap XD *again*
xit - September 4, 2008 05:54 AM (GMT)
I both hated it and loved it.
Hated it because I was lonely all the time.
Loved it because it wasn't the nightmare primary school was.
Later I've come to accept the loneliness. But that doesn't mean I like it.
School itself was bloody easy though.
I remember freaking out everybody at an four-hour written exam, where I finished it in the first hour.
What a joy to watch the horror and intensified scribling from all the others. ^^
I started playing tic-tac-toe with myself in the last three hours.
Personally I'm still waiting to try what being a teenager is all about.
Seems to me that I went straight from early childhood to adulthood, without all the fuss of everything else.
sweet_decadence - September 4, 2008 02:41 PM (GMT)
Hated school, both of em.
I hated the pricks who ran them.
I hated that they kept trying to shove they're religious bullshit down my throat(they weren't even christian schools O_o)
I hated the narrowmindness of the children there
I hated how the staff wanted respect without giving it back in return.
Though I loved it because I put the fear of god into the souls of neds who decided to mess with the goth girl.
I love the friends I made there, they're the best I could ever wish for and I hope I never lose them.
Now college, that is much better! I  it!

hehe, same here.
But for me--instead of religion, it was their crooked sense of politics that pissed me off.
Izumi - September 5, 2008 01:07 PM (GMT)
haha! The best thing bout my last year is that we were 18 and we were legal to drink so on our free slots we'd sit in the pub and play pool and stuff XDDD
Uni gets worse XDDDD
Nothing like being in physical chemistry reeking of tequila from the night before, trying to keep your breakfast down...... FUN times XDDDD
Thank god I changed direction to art.... such behavior is expected XD
Maddy-chan - September 5, 2008 01:46 PM (GMT)
1 thing that is good in Estonian schools that only a small percent of us believes that there is a god( mostly Russians who are living in Estonia) and an even smaller percent of people are christian....
So I'm safe from that....
Immortal Angel - September 5, 2008 04:52 PM (GMT)
I'm wondering how many languages did/do you have (have in the meaning -> you learn them rihgt now) on your school?
I have 5 right now: Slovene, english, german, latin and french.
porcelainmaiden - September 5, 2008 08:56 PM (GMT)
At my high school we could learn German, French, Spanish, Sign Language and Japanese.
Unfortunatly, most of these options were taken away before I got there.
So in my love for Malice Mizer and M10M, I took French for three years.
sweet_decadence - September 6, 2008 02:27 AM (GMT)
My school offered 3 languages. German, French and Spanish.
I learned German. Im not very good though. I purposefully failed tests to get into the lowest class.
lips_blood_red - September 6, 2008 03:26 AM (GMT)
my old school...well, still actually until i finish the stupid social service, gives english, french, German, italian and latin...
i didn't take any of these in school cause i didn't had time, and they were all the time overfull... i've learned french (still not much good) by myself as i do with japanese and i'm actually trying to learn german too

Mine had French German and Welsh
Immortal Angel - September 6, 2008 07:02 PM (GMT)
On my school is possible to learn: slowene(must), english(must), latin(must), old greek, french/spanish/italian/german(must), russian
xit - September 6, 2008 08:00 PM (GMT)
Here it's Danish, English, and French/German/Spanish depending on what the school offers.
Some also offer Latin, but not a lot.
Personally I've had Danish (duh...), English, French, and German.
Immortal Angel - September 6, 2008 09:11 PM (GMT)
Hey, I see many people learned german.
Dann sprechen wir doch ein bisschen deutsch ;))
porcelainmaiden - September 7, 2008 12:17 AM (GMT)
Wo kommen Sie her? Deutschland?
Welches Fach gefällt Dir am besten?
Mein Lieblingsfach ist Kunst.
AngelaAshford06 - September 7, 2008 03:23 AM (GMT)
My highschool had Spanish, French, and Latin.
I took French for fun during my junior year. It was a fun class and I really liked my teacher.
I've been really rusty on my French these past couple years though. I want to use the Rosetta Stone program to learn it again. :P
Ludivine - September 7, 2008 03:24 AM (GMT)
Here French and English are mandatory. I went to a private school so I also studied Latin but unfortunately they stopped teaching it a few years ago (or so I heard). Some high schools also have Spanish and Mandarin.
I took German in college but I don't remember much...
And studied Japanese in uni (thinking about taking another class in January but since I'm not a student anymore I'll have to go through the Japanese Cultural Center).
porcelainmaiden - September 7, 2008 03:50 AM (GMT)
What language do you guys think is the most difficult to speak?
I think Mandarin is pretty hard, my Taiwanese friends tried to help me....no work so well.
Jinxlynroth - September 7, 2008 04:05 AM (GMT)
get this
the only other launguage apart from english we are allowed to learn is Spainish!
and we are a "creative arts school"
they don't tell you about any options in TAFE where you can learn other launguages!
it sucks!
*I don't mind spainish though!
Maddy-chan - September 7, 2008 05:21 AM (GMT)
lots of schools offer German here... but not mine :(.... I have to learn Russian...
Ja nje panimaaju paruski :(...
So pretty much : Estonian, English and Russian....

I always thought slowene isn't that difficult, but now when I think about it ... we have a damn hard grammar and also everything not just for plural and singular, but also for 2 (me, _we two_, we). And also the verbs, adjectives,.. are different for each sex.
People also say that german is difficult because of der-die-das instead of the, but I think its much easier then lets say french. In german everything has strict rules - in french you first have to learn quite long to understand sth. And the spelling is totaly differen =.=
For me, french is much difficulter then english. And latin grammar is my biggest nightmare -.-
But japanese (as far as I learned) doesnt look so difficult to me, cause you somehow put the words together to get a sentence and there are some certain rules how to make it. ...
Dunno ...

I have learned these: Finnish (of course), English, Swedish, German
And soon I will start French! I have wanted to study it for 6 years, but only now it is possible...
And also I started to take Japanese classes one year ago~
But now when I think about it I can speak Swedish better than German o.o Even if I have studied Swedish for 3 years and German for 6 XD
I think German has too many grammar rules and I have had very bad teachers XD

Many of you seem to want to learn French and it makes me curious.
Has it got something to do with Mana's professed love for it or not?
French is not such a valued language anymore, even in France where it is now fashionable to prefer English (for example the slogans on posters for Nescafé or Nike and many others are in English with a tiny French translation on the side, as if English were more or less the new official language!). Very sad, because language is such a huge part of one's identity...

When I was in primariy school and had to decide which language to take, I took french cause it was the favourite language of my best friend teacher. And she told me how nice this language is etc. + cause somehow german and french people have very simmilar taste, there were many french sites interesting for me.

Like others, I learned French before I knew of Mana.
I took three years of French from Madame Maraby, one of my fav. teachers.
It is a beautiful language but BEWARE!!!!!
Conjugation is not fun!!!! :o
