Title: OMFG
Description: Moitie Dry cleaners issue
Moi-Dix-Jasdero - August 12, 2008 06:14 PM (GMT)
So i dropped off my chandelier print JSK at the dry cleaners the other day and i picked it up today.
As i arrive home i look more closely at eh dress to make sure everything is clean
THEY PUT WHOLES IN IT!!!
Seeing the dress has not straps the pinned it, i would have not promblem with this if they used a thin pin like a needle, but NO they used one that literally put wholes onh both sided.
And the stain that was on the lace, it got worse NOT better, it actually spread! I told them to make sure that was the number one priotitey...and they fucked it up!
What should i do!
I am going to call tomorrow when the store owner is in, but what could i really do, it is not like the dress is ruined and they are sure as hell not going to give me money to 'fix it' because you kind can't...so what to do?
sweet_decadence - August 12, 2008 06:45 PM (GMT)
They put holes in your dress? How.......?
I'd call them up and demand they refund me the cost of the dress since they seem to have ruined it.
Moi-Dix-Jasdero - August 12, 2008 07:10 PM (GMT)
really? 0-0 that would be a hell of a lot to ask for
the wholes are not HUGE but they are noticeable and will not go away T^T i was just trying to take care of it!
Like said the dress is not RUINED but.....not in as good a condition that it ws (perfect other then that little stain)
Izumi - August 12, 2008 07:22 PM (GMT)
its still damage to your property - you have the right to claim against it.
Moi-Dix-Jasdero - August 12, 2008 07:44 PM (GMT)
really? wow i will try that then!
What if they are like
its only a couple of wholes get over it
.....then what (i am nooot good with talking to people)
Izumi - August 12, 2008 08:02 PM (GMT)
seriously, Just think of the celebs who might need to get their uber expensive versace or valentino or dior dresses dry cleaned? they cost like anthing from like $1000 to infinity!
They aint gonna get away with even the slightest mark on them. Go and see them and tell them what you found and that your not happy. you dont have to do it guns blazing...
And btw
i stick my moitie in the washing machine and it doenst do any harm to them. Just make sure you dont putr it on a harsh cycle. try silks or delicates with the slowest or no spin cycle.
Moi-Dix-Jasdero - August 12, 2008 08:28 PM (GMT)
ok will do
WHA really?? I am just so paranoid i figured this would be the best way...but no T=T

hm it doesn't matter if its a couple of holes or a ginormous hole... all that matters is that when your property was entrusted to their care, they messed it up and they are 100000000000% responsible.
BUT!!! the thing is.. you can't let them know your hesistant! because they will latch on to the weakness and make you THINK its no big deal!! you have to tell them straight up that its unacceptable!!! the dry cleaners is where you take fancy expensive stuff, so they should KNOW how to handle it... and be prepared to pay the consequences ($$$) when they mis-handle it.
Moi-Dix-Jasdero - August 13, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
Ok, don't show hesitance...maybe Kyo should do it for me T^T she is plan out "this is what i want damnit and i will fit to get it that way!!" i am just like "oh ok well then see you later" type person when it comes to business matters
and it is a about 6 small wholes. 3 in the front and about 3-4 in the back.
MarionetteMana - August 13, 2008 06:00 AM (GMT)
One time, I emailed Mana and demanded he tell me how to clean my Moitie logo print cutsew, because it is a lint magnet (which I also complained to him about).
Needless to say, he didn't reply. It sucks that happened to your JSK. I hope you'll still wear it, since you are the only other Lolita I know of in Tennessee (besides myself) that wears Moitié.
ManaVampire - August 13, 2008 06:14 AM (GMT)
hmm...not to start a debate about it or anything, but since we don't know the details of the whole story, did you make sure this was a trust worthy dry cleaner in the first place?
Of course, trust worthy or not, its not excuse for damaging your clothes in that way but its always a good thing to make sure the dry cleaners you're using are reliable before hand.
Its a good idea to call them up and complain...I personally don't know about getting a FULL refund for the dress since it was a small mess up (because when it comes to celebrities, I'm sure they're taking their clothes to some huge fancy dry cleaners in Hollywood that probably cost a lot of money to begin with XD). I would personally expect a refund from the amount I paid initially for the dry cleaning, but no more than that...thats just simply what I would see as reasonable.(^^)v
Also, like Izumi I also clean my Moitie. The last time I took mine to the dry cleaners it cost us over $70 to get all my outfits cleaned. It was a large amount of Moitie, but not as much as I own now which makes it too pricey for us to dry clean. ):
I always feel safe cleaning my own. I put it on the lowest cycle possible when both washing and drying it. I'm also careful to take off any ribbons from corsets or neck ties because ribbons have a tenancy to sometimes shred in the washing machine and dryer. The ribbon on my iron gate dress shredded half way and we had to end up cutting part of it off. Now my ribbon is much shorter than it should be and I'm quite upset by that. Ever since then I've been more than cautious with my Moitie, but putting it on a delicate setting seems to work just as well as paying for the dry cleaners.(^^)

A-fuckin-men!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this!
People don't seem to realize that Moi meme Moitie isn't that fancy in its materials!
It consists largely of polyester or cotton.... Perfectly safe to put in the washing machine!
I'll admit I was uber worried at first cos my dress is partly tencel (and I'd never heard of it!!) But my mother told me it was fine to wash.
SAVE MONEY!!! BOYCOTT DRY CLEANERS!!! XDD

I also use washing machine :D
First I tought that what if I ruin them if I use washing machine, because it says dry cleaning.
But then, the quiality would be very bad if they get bad in washing machines.
But now I'm thinking:
I have this dress
http://www.closet-child.com/shop/list.php?no=622OP-4150sr (I didn't buy it from CC)
so, do you think that the white area will get black color if I wash it? :o
(do you understand my meaning? I'm sorry, my English isn't perfect ^^")
Moi-Dix-Jasdero> Omg! I hope you will still wear your JSK D: You must have your money back from the dry cleaning place!! :anger:
Moi-Dix-Jasdero - August 13, 2008 07:18 PM (GMT)
Well i have never know black to bleed really! I have washed many black things and none have ever bleed.
But i have never washed anything like Moitie so i suggest asking someone that knows what they are talking about.

yeah sometimes Black can run, but normally this doesnt happen on cool washes. I have white lace trims and mine are still white. However if you are unsure and would like to wash your dress in the machine you could see if you can buy a colour catcher like this
Here or if you have something similar where ever you live....

I have yet to dirty a Moitie garment, but I did roll in the grass in Sarah's... XD
