Title: How does he do it?
Description: Makeup

I've been listening to Malice Mizer and Moi Dix Mois for four years and all the while I've been wondering," How does Mana look so much like a woman?" Because of Mana I started wearing dresses, and every time I hate the fact I look so much like a man, does anyone know how Mana looks so much like a woman, and how I might be able to do the same?

Mana's inspiration for "cosplay" came about in his high school years. When he was about 16 years old he became deeply interested in rock bands such as Motley Crue, and Iron Maiden. When he attended his first Motley Crue concert he noticed many people going there who were dressed up close to how the band was. From then on, he found more interest in dressing up and I suppose he just eventually came up with his own style with the inspiration of Motley Crue.
In the beginning, I wouldn't say Mana looked as girly as he does now, it took several years of practice to get down what he can do now. I'd say other than that, a lot of it has to do with how he portrays himself and the fact that hes a rather small/slender man. There are many asians out there that tend to look much more on the feminen side just because of their body structure. I believe this is something else that helps him out almost more than anything. Mana watches what he eats and takes care of his body to look the way it does. But other than that, if you're talking about Make up and such, its just a lot of practice and dedication to a goal of a particular image.

I want to start practicing with the make-up, but since I totally don't know a thing about it I was hoping that site would be of help. For some reason it won't show for me though. Anyone knows if it's still up? And, can anyone give me a little starter advice, you know; like what to use, how to use it, that kind of stuff. Yeah, I'm completely new to this.

 *wanders around through eerily quiet topic* Hello, anyone? Pretty please! *puppy dog eyes* ;)
ManaVampire - February 24, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
hmm, I can help! 8D What do you need to know?
Fure-chama - February 24, 2007 12:15 PM (GMT)
Well, as I've said I am completely new to this. I have absolutely NO experience with make-up whatsoever. Some begginer advice would be great. What do I need to get started? And any advice on how to apply it would be helpful. :) Thanks for wanting to help! :)
EDIT: Ah, and if that site mentioned above is still up or not. I don't know if it's just me, but it just won't open properly for me. :(

Ummm this may be a little bit out there
but is it natural to have female ummmm....
dosen't matter
Sorry if this dosen't help
Mana ,since he naturally has small eyes put's a fine line of black eyeliner outside the correct position and shapes his eye's in the correct way, on his skin in where the eye shape is made, Mana colour's it and blend's it with his eye, Currently he has done A certain shape, that makes the eye's appear more closer together
and applies fake eyelashes and if he can be bothered will put A little bit of white eyeshadow on the fake eyelashes.
it my technique
for more than makeup

Like most famous japanese, Mana has had blepharoplasty done. Compare his pics from the early Malice Mizer years and his pics today. No matter..he is beautiful!!

Interesting, i checked wikipedia on that subject and found this.
Wiki-
Asian blepharoplasty, less frequently known as an Oriental blepharoplasty, is a type of plastic surgery where the skin around the eyes is reshaped. The purpose of the procedure is to create an upper eyelid with a crease (i.e. "double eyelid") from an eyelid without a crease (i.e. "single eyelid").[1] Anatomically, there are a number of differences in the upper eyelids of Eastern Asians compared with Caucasians.[2] About 50% of Eastern Asians are born with a single eyelid,[3][4] and Asian blepharoplasties have been reported to be the most common aesthetic procedure in Taiwan[5] and Asia.[
I havent heard of that before, the procedure had been originally used to remove deformities casued by cancer of the eyelid.

Yes, it is a very popular procedure. A lot of asian movie stars and singers do this to give the illusion of "wide eyes". Not to gloat, but I was born with natural double lids (I'm taiwanese btw).. But unfortunately, most asians don't. If you notice Mana in the Girl-e days, his eyes weren't so round then.. You can definately tell when someone has had this surgery done because the crease line doesn't connect with the inner corner of the eye. Look at the japanese fashion mags, especially the girls.. you can tell whether they have had the procedure or not.

He shapes his eyes using eyeliner, dear.
It's FAR more common than blepharoplasty.
