And Mana is in it, so you can all relax now xDD

There's a post with some scans in the LJ EGL community if you want a sneak preview. Overall it looks pretty well done so kudos to Tokyopop.

If the link doesn't work, you may need to be logged in, but I don't think you do. Try it first.

Feel free to write reviews here later if you buy it. I'll probably pick it up on my next trip to the bookstore.
:mana:

Its looks pretty good!^^ Better than i expected it to be. I would love to buy one and acually read it this time. <33 Instead of just watching the pictures and imagening what the text would go about. xD

But i do think i would like the Japanese version better. I dont know why but it give me some kind of 'feeling'. I know it sounds weird but i cant really explain it. xD

I can not get that in Scotland anywhere, apparently the UK can't get it till summer.

Lol the lolita fashion is so corny

"However, the maiden realized that she, too....had a world of darness within her."

Cheesy!

I still want to read it all the same.

Thanks for posting this!
It actually looks really good! :3

I think I might go out and buy it sometime this week! D;

EDIT

So I just went to Barnes and Noble. They said they had it in stock and they didn't...or else it was hiding somewhere in the depths of that store nobody knows about. Either way, I got it ordered and it should be in within a week. :3 I'll make some clearer scans for you guys when I get it unless someone else does it first. XD

Vol. 2 comes out in June!

iSynth - February 19, 2008 01:05 AM (GMT)
My bookstore can only pre-order Vol. 2. :(

MiMichan - March 15, 2008 12:49 AM (GMT)
I just bought that at borders today, it was the last one left. It looks good.....the lines they used for the pics of Mana were a little odd but the books great.

I can't wait for vol 2!

ManaVampire - March 15, 2008 02:12 AM (GMT)
Well what they wrote for Mana was direct translations, so what he said was actually kinda odd. XDD But I agree. "The youth" was a little strange to me.

I really think I want to try to submit a picture for vol. 2!! D:

Yeah, I don't care much for what they have in terms of manga either. XD

I've been reading a lot of stuff that comes out of Shojo Beat, and various other manga.

They actually didn't do a bad job on the English GLB.
It was really controversial at the beginning because we were all thinking they were going to put a load of shit in there and not know what they're talking about, but it seems as though some of the staff is educated on Lolita and they've picked descent representatives of the western lolita community to add in editorials and such. Its pretty good, although, I was kind of expecting/hoping they would add in more photos of western lolitas than they did. :/

I dont like how they bring out manga saying that its like really cutting edge and its not.
Theyre latest titles are pretty similar in content.
They say they're leading the western manga revolution, bull!
they want to lead... get more variety in new titles released!!

ok...

Well its good to know they didnt screw up on something thats really really sensitive to its principles and stuff.

Yeah, I thought they were going to bomb as well. XD

Hey at least it isn't Viz calling their manga edgy, since they have the biggest weeaboo (Stupid, annoying kids who think they're Japanese. Look up Narutard if you want a better description.) base around. X(

I subscribe to Shojo Beat and I like it, but eventhough it has an Older Teen rating, they sometimes act like they're directed at pre-teens. =/

Their fashion articles every month are either hit or miss, but I enjoy the Japanese recipes (but I have yet to try any of them yet :( ) and the horoscopes. :P

I wish Viz would release two more magazines. Both Shojo and Shonen, but actually make them directed at older teens. They would have more mature stories compared to what Jump and Beat have.

My favorite company has to be Del Ray. :P

I've stopped reading Shonen Jump a long time ago. I kinda lost interest. XD

But Shojo Beat is pretty good. They have some cool articles, but some of them I don't bother reading, like the ones related to their female readers. XD I've even got my mom into Shojo Beat.

Plus I've lost interest in Naruto, due to its growing fanbase and never-ending storyline. The fanbase being the number one reason I think. XD

But it does seem like Tokyopop did a good job on the english GLB. When I first heard about an english translation, I immediately thought "why does something tell me this is going to be crap?" But I suppose I was wrong. It looks pretty decent in comparison to its japanese counterpart. ^^
