Title: Mana's Birthday is Coming up!
Description: What should we do?

ManaVampire - February 15, 2008 03:00 AM (GMT)
I was thinking a couple years ago or whenever we all got together as a group and tried to send a birthday card to Mana, but unfortunately about six months later the card was mysteriously returned.

Since Mana never received our wonderful card from that time, I was thinking we could try it again, and since we have even more members on here now we could make this really great!

So how about it?
Should we get together and make something from the forums to Mana this year for his birthday?

I figure I would post it now so we have plenty of time to get things together.

I was thinking we could put a big card/book together for Mana wishing him happy birthday.

I'm willing to mail it off and pay for all the postage, but if you want to participate, I think there should be a few guidelines in case a lot of people want to do it I don't have to pay $50 or something just to send it to him.

*Everyone could have up to two pages in the book/card and you can fill it up with anything you want to write in or add pictures.

*If you would like to send original artwork or gifts, I can send it as a whole package with the book, but please don't send anything too big, heavy, or expensive.

*Anything you want to submit will be clearly labeled that it is from you and I will take pictures/scans of the progress just to make sure its to your liking.

*If you want to submit a message thats more personal that you don't want to be publicly shared (such as including your real name in it) , you are more than welcome to email me your message privately.

Also, some suggestions if you would like to submit to the card but you don't know exactly what to put in:

-Wish him happy birthday, perhaps tell him what dix Love means to you (and of course to Mana specifically too because its his birthday)

-Send pictures of yourself in Moitie, cosplay, celebrating his birthday, or just yourself

-Tell him a little about yourself

-create some artwork dedicated to him

-include any interesting photography you might think he would like

-Anything else you can think of

This is free for everyone here to be creative if you're interested in joining in on making Mana a birthday gift.

If you have any suggestions on it, I'd love to hear them! I'd really like for this to be a group effort to help Mana have a wonderful birthday and show our dedication as fans.

The deadline for everything will remain To Be Announced for now until we figure out the amount of interest in this.

Please post in here if you would like to help create a birthday card for Mana! ;)

Haha! Hell yes! <3

XD i'll probably AIM you what I want to say in it >w<

ManaVampire - February 15, 2008 04:35 AM (GMT)
Ok! Sounds good! :D

Maddy-chan - February 15, 2008 05:35 AM (GMT)
Oh My god O.O... Thats.... Do i have the guts... and can i write in eglish (engrish probably)XD... *is scared*

ManaVampire - February 15, 2008 06:14 AM (GMT)
Of course you can write in English. XD You can write in whatever language you feel like. I'll probably send him a letter in Japanese. He loves fanmail, so I doubt it really matters what language its in to him, he would still be happy. XDD

Astral Romance - February 15, 2008 09:56 AM (GMT)
Ohh, it's very very great idea. Well, of course i will make two pages of the book xDD. So as i have understood when we make that pages we have to send it to you, Sarah, no?

ManaVampire - February 15, 2008 05:17 PM (GMT)
yes, that would be good!
Either through regular mail or email.
I'm just trying to see the amount of interest now, so in a couple days I'll post more of that kind of information.(^^)

Evangeline - February 15, 2008 06:06 PM (GMT)
Oooh that is an awesome idea! ^^ I'm going to think what to put in the card right away. o.o

And i hope Mana will be able to read my messy handwriting. o.o''

sweet_decadence - February 15, 2008 06:37 PM (GMT)
Oh I'd definatley be interesting in maybe doing something like that!

nekoFlein - February 15, 2008 09:06 PM (GMT)
That sounds awsome!!!!! I'll be thinking of things to put in 24/7 now! My parents will think I've completely lost it -_-. I hope he likes everything and that it works out this time. *sweatdrop* ^-^

Immortal Angel - February 15, 2008 09:19 PM (GMT)
wiiiiiii
wonderful idea :DDD

Fure-chama - February 15, 2008 09:58 PM (GMT)
Slightly more than a month and I get to bake Dix mask cupcakes and eat curry again, and listen to even more Moi dix Mois music than usual! And then terrify Mana-sama with my mug on the pics I'm going to take! Sweet! Count me in!

Yes, hes said it several times in various interviews that he loves to receive fanmail, and he especially loves to read long letters from his fans. He always takes time out to read everyone's fanmail to him. ;)

You can send fanmail through email, or regular mail.
Personally, since I'm 100% sure he checks the Mon+Amour email and hes always asking Mon+Amour members to send him letters about what we thought about the madoushos, I always send fanmail to that email address.
However, I think it might be odd for non M+A members to send him fanmail to the M+A email, the best alternative for non members is to always send him fanmail through his website where he provides the space to do so.
http://www.midi-nette.com/mana/sympathy-e.html

they also have space to email Mana and any other Moi dix Mois members here too:

http://midi-nette.com/mdm/e/index.html

Finally, this is the postal address to send fanmail to Mana or any other Moi dix Mois member

"Moi dix Mois" Azabu post office Tokyo JAPAN Zip 106-8691
<* Please describe the address and Member's name clearly.>

ANYWAY the amount of interest sounds really great for this, so I'm willing to take anything you guys want to send as soon as you want to send it.

THE FOLLOWING IS MY EMAIL ADDRESS TO SEND ANYTHING YOU WANT VIA EMAIL

lolitadoll.mana@gmail.com

Also, if you have something original you would like to give to Mana which you would also like to add into the card/book, either PM me or email me for my address. I don't want to put it out publicly because thats not a very smart thing to do...XD

DEADLINE FOR SUBMITION

Friday, March 7 is the preferable date.
However I will give you the entire weekend to still add in submissions. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT LAST MINUTE. I will be finishing all assembling of the card that weekend, so if you DO decide to give me something Sunday night I will probably just throw it in and it wont be as nicely put together as everyone else's pages. By that time you will have had plenty of time to think about what you want in the card so don't put it off and expect it to be beautiful.

It takes approximately 10 days for packages to reach people in Japan and I would like to get it to him by his Birthday. It will be JUST cutting the 10 day mark so we can be assured the package will get to him around the time of his birthday.

Anyway, please think about what you would like to submit and get it into me! If anyone would like to make a pretty cover picture for the book, you're more than welcome to! ;D

Astral Romance - February 17, 2008 11:40 AM (GMT)
The idea about making a cover picture sounds very well. I actually would like to do that but i still don't know WHAT can be done on the cover. I can paint faces :D . Does anyone also want to make a cover? we can make some covers and choose the best one, no? B) I have the idea that we just can paint a Mana with a birthday cake on the cover :D. And a birthday cap :D

Immortal Angel - February 17, 2008 11:46 AM (GMT)
yeah, a theme for the cover would be good, and then we can do them and choose the best.

:mana:

Astral Romance - February 17, 2008 11:48 AM (GMT)
Or we can make a cover together.

Immortal Angel - February 17, 2008 02:24 PM (GMT)
how big will it be?

an idea:
If we want to have on the first site happy b-day or sth like that, and the cover will be bigger that A4, then everybody can make one letter in - lets say in the way of the writting of M10M
But it should not look completly different ... and in 2 or 3 colours

Astral Romance - February 17, 2008 03:19 PM (GMT)
^^ Well i don't know but i think the cover should be A4 format size. It doesnt matter we all do a cover or one person does cover. The most important thing is that cover must be very very beautiful ^^

ManaVampire - February 18, 2008 07:32 AM (GMT)
ahhh, I know what size I have in mind but I'm not sure if its A4 or not. Its like 1:30 in the morning right now and I /SHOULD/ be asleep right now so I'll check sometime tomorrow if I can (if not tomorrow, I will try to remind myself on Tuesday to do it for sure)

but yeah, whatever you guys want works for me! Submitting more than one cover and voting on the best is always nice too.

I'm going to try my best to make the book look really professional. My mom has some amazing tools at her work which I'm sure she wouldn't mind me using that can help me on that part. I was thinking of making inside cover pages inside the book with prints of old European style cemeteries in them then putting the member submitted pages in blue and black (or at least working with the member pages to be as elegant/Mana-y looking as possible depending on what exactly is submitted).

I don't have the cemetery pictures yet...so if any of you happen to be remotely near any it would be AMAZING of you to take pictures of them just to make it even more original than using some professional photo shoot by some random person for cemetery pictures, if you guys like the idea.

There happens to be one only a few minutes on foot from where I live. I believe it's not really that old, but 'll see what I can do. :D

Astral Romance - February 18, 2008 11:56 AM (GMT)
Or we can take photos of old European churches. Like these ones:
-Click-

-Click-

We can blend that photos and then write something on them in handwriting^^.

masqurade_Imigen - February 18, 2008 01:31 PM (GMT)
i think im gonna cry...lol i don't no why either lmao :K2:

ManaVampire - February 18, 2008 03:58 PM (GMT)
ohh, the churches are beautiful too!

Yeah, for the handwritting thing, I was thinking it would be really cool if we all wrote a really small note with our signatures on it on a page like that (with either a church or cemetery background) and put it at the end of the book. I didn't mention it because I thought maybe it would be too hard to get around in time? I'm not quite sure. If we did it we would have to find a way that takes fastest to ship to everyone. ):

Fure-chama > Non old cemeteries are ok too!

Astral Romance - February 18, 2008 05:14 PM (GMT)
Sadly we don't have enough time. That shiping is very slow :(. Ok i will try to ask my friend if we could take some photos in an oldtown of our city. It would be interesting to write little letters for Mana. I mean one member of Mana-Sama.net forum makes one letter B)

Maddy-chan - February 18, 2008 05:50 PM (GMT)
X.x my teacher just reminded me today that my handwirting sucks
(yeah she said that qoute on qoute " your handwriting sucks!! ")
so im not going to be able to write the letter...
but there is allways e-mail :(...... *sight*......

Astral Romance - February 18, 2008 06:45 PM (GMT)
My handwriting is also not perfect but if i want i can do it more beautiful :D . Heheh... :mana:

Immortal Angel - February 18, 2008 06:47 PM (GMT)
EMS ...

Otherwise, we could also scan our handwrittings and send them. Or if you dont have a scanner, you can take a photo and it could be photoshoped to good quality-real looking writting.

[damn, I have to say goodbye now until 23.feb cause I'm going to Germany on the BioFach Messe]
</3

:mana:

xit - February 18, 2008 07:10 PM (GMT)
I actually live in walking distance to an old church with cemetary. Can't remember when it was built. I think it's back in the 12th century.
But it doesn't really matter since I don't have a digital camera. T_T

I am in the process of making a 3D model of Mana (just because I can), but I won't be able to finish to his birthday, too busy at uni... :(

Immortal Angel - February 18, 2008 10:37 PM (GMT)
Ok, here I have a few pixs from prag (2004 i think), koeln (2005) and paris last year.
+ I have many other pics from paris and also a few of the heidelberg castle + I will watch out for churches in nuernberg ^^

Ludivine - February 18, 2008 11:11 PM (GMT)
I'll see if I can take some pics. The oldest and nicest cemetery here is not really close but if I have enough time I'll try to go there.

Astral Romance - February 18, 2008 11:15 PM (GMT)
So then i will also ask my friedn to take some photos of old churches in my city^^. And also i will take some photos of my university :D. I like its architecture.

Fure-chama - February 18, 2008 11:19 PM (GMT)
I just returned from my cemetary photoshoot. Thought a misty night would have been perfect... not so much... >_< There wasn't enough light most of the time (you wouldn't guess, at night! :D) and the mist mostly worked against me making decent pictures, so most pictures turned out crappy. I believe some came out nicely though. I guess I'll give it a try tomorrow (or actually today, considering it's just after midnight :)) around twilight. I'll try to post or send whatever turned out nice later on this day.

Back on the topic of his b-day... I know I'm new and not really a part of the community yet, but I read through a lot of the posts and had an idea... what if everyone pitched in a bit (as a little as a dollar or so) to get him something really cool? It wouldn't have to be anything major, just something cute to show our appreciation!
