Title: Cosplay questions
Description: chii ...

Immortal Angel - November 17, 2007 09:29 AM (GMT)
I thought to cosplay Chii for my project this year (school ...)
Well it will be mostly about Mana ^^ but I'll also be a day or two in town dressed like Lolita, Cosplay etc. and then make statistics and interviews and so on.

The point is, (beside that im totaly in love with Chii ^^) that I wanted to buy this cos.dress

But the problem is, that the same pics are also on other ebay seller's sites, and I dont think that they all do the same and also there are a few things not included or there is just the dress etc.

So do somebody know where I could buy without fearing, that it will be a total disaster?

ps: I also found the site of this girl (*.*) but I'm to shy to ask her ...

I've heard that it's not a good thing to trust Chinese cosplay shops on ebay. :unsure:

If they're using another site's image, then that's even more suspicious. ^^;;

I think that dress is the cosplayer's creation as well. ^^;;

The school is bad thing. But if you want the same dress you can try to find a seamstress who would made it for you... I know maby it's not a good idea, but... When i have mother who loves to sew it's a...very good thing :D .

haha yeah, I've noticed that too. I tried searching particular kinds of wigs on ebay before and found a chinese seller that was doing the same thing as this one.

I didn't end up buying from them, because if they're using other website's pictures, chances are it could be terrible quality and not what you expected...I don't know, I just don't trust it at all.

My suggestion would be to check out the website thats listed in the chii pictures, or check out cosplay.com. Theres usually a lot of threads on their forums about those kinds of things. I've actually read some pretty good in depth articles on there concerning cosplay, and when its an anime cosplay such as that, I tend to think they're more helpful than anyone else.

The lips. THOSE LIPS!!! Those gosh darned perfect LIPS. So even, so symmetrical so... so... so.... IMPOSSIBLE!! How, how, how, how HOW is it done? Everyone seems to nail it but I've sat for hours in front of my insy mirror with my moms eye liner (hah!) and never, ever came close. How is it done? What are the secrets of the lips!?

I try to do a good Mana cosplay and i practise a lot. It's hard enough to do that lips perfectly. I actually want to make them completely the same as Mana's. It's very important what the shape of your own lips is... And again, you should be an artist if you want to do a good Mana's cosplay. I have seen many Mana's cosplays but only some of them were really good, so i think i will make some photos of my Mana's cosplay only if (when) i will learn how to do it perfectly^^. But learning how to do that is very interesting, so practise a lot to!:)

I'm not perfect too with lips make-up, but if you will practice more you can.

First I use a foundation and cover stick, next eyeliner. You should keep looking to your mouth's shape and make a line over or above your lips. One line is not enough and keep working on left and rigth side of lips at the same time. Just try, it's hard to explain.
It also depends of your natural lips' shape. Too small or too big are very hard.

I've seen a film on YouTube with a girl doing Mana make-up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oR6feZOfO4

And here are my lips:

Thanks :D The thing is, you and the girl in the video have like... the perfect lips for this. I don't get it -- everyone I see has the perfect shape down. Maybe I have a fish pout, or maybe I'm just bad at make up but.. I just don't see it!

Thanks though.. if I ever figure out the art of taming my pucker lips I will share my efforts, no matter how embarrassing.
