Moi dix Mois Concert - Paris, October 27th 2007


This concert report is written by me (Izumi).
I and Lu-chan got to the Elysee Montmartre at about 5pm. The organization of the crowd was god awful. Barriers were everywhere, and there was no real designated area for Mon+Amour members to wait. I assume they just made they’re own because most of them seemed to be to the right of the entrance. There was a lot of pushing and shoving, mainly involving the barriers.
The Mon+Amour members were called about 6pm. The venue staff made us put our confirmation letters in the air and it was awful because regular fans were trying to move into our line, much to member’s annoyance. Eventually male M+A members were pulling us out of the crowd.
We got our tickets and they were little laminated pictures of the Dixanadu album cover and it had "FAN CLUB" printed on them.... Here's a picture of mine:



We had to wait at the top of the stairs in the venue until the cue came to let us in. It was nicer to just be with the Mon+Amour. They seemed more civilized and more mature, also it seemed like they were much more passionate about everything unlike the "kiddy fans". Eventually the cue came and I personally don’t remember much else other than bolting for Mana's side of the stage... and we were successful!! :D
We were right in front of his place!!
We had to wait another hour and half before the set began. This is when I got really pissed off. We had a bunch of girls behind us who were clearly fan girl. They didn’t not like it that we were at the barrier, and because they were smaller than us because of our shoes. They kept kicking us until Lu-chan screamed at the in French. Their argument was "if we didn’t want to be pushed, we should not be in the mosh pit" - if I spoke French I would have told her real mosh pits are in the middle of a crowd, not the front! AND MOI DIX MOIS WEREN'T EVEN PLAYING YET!!! They stopped for a little bit, and then it was just the nasty, catty comments throughout the waiting time. It wasn’t just us they pissed off it was a whole bunch of people. I was kicked a lot by one particular girl, so I just decided to piss her off more just by getting in her way... but she was a horrible little creature!

Moi Dix Mois came on stage... Hayato, Sugiya, K, Mana, and Seth (together), it was a great feeling!! To see Mana-sama standing before me was better than any dream!!
He is not like you'd think. In pictures he looks really small... he's not, he's just average. He's smaller than a European man, but he's not like a little stick man XD... His face is amazing. Sarah told me Mana is prettier in real life... THAT’S SO TRUE!! Only because, if you look at a picture of him... that’s how he really looks... he has no flaws on his face what so ever. His make up is perfect. But he looks more natural... softer... 3 dimensional... REAL!!
The rest of the band is just the same, they look like typical Asian male build. They totally smashed my image that I had. Though K must be huge... he wasn’t wearing platforms... or Sugiya... but K looked taller than Sugiya. K has a weird sex appeal too (...or is that just me O_o) XDDDDDDDDDDD

I don’t remember the entire set list, Lu-chan might be able to help me, but the songs I remember are:

They played more than this, but it’s all I can remember for now.
The sound quality during the show was fabulous. It was at that level where, it was loud, but not to loud where it distorts. Every instrument could be heard clearly, and we were right next to the amps, and you don’t get that very often, being so close.
We got to do the DIX para-para XD and shout “DIX LOVE” – K’s English is “AWESOME” (haha Lu-chan!!) I don’t know if he did it on purpose or he really talks like this but, sometimes K sounded like a character from a badly English dubbed Anime??? He was Hilarious. He even spat his water over us! Yay!!! K spit!! XD
Mana also had a video camera that he ran about the stage with, filming the crowd. He looked so funny. I loved it. It was also nice to see Mana twirl around like he does… he looks so passionate, completely into his own creation. It was also nice to make eye contact with him a few times… I don’t know if anyone else noticed this… but when he looks at the crowd, especially front row, he makes eye contact with you. Those pretty, pretty Japanese eyes *melt melt melt* AND!!! To see his eyelashes flutter!! When he blinks!! Its really petty, but when you see these little things so close up to him, like when he leans over the edge of the stage with the Jeunne Fille, it really hits you of how real he is… ^ ^
During the concert the girls who were behind me got the last straw of my patience... Not only were they hitting me on purpose in the back but they kept calling for Juka in between songs.... my brain just went "FAAAAAAAAAAAAANGIRRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLL" - so the next time she hit me I turned around and punched her in the face. Seriously, I know it may have been uncalled for, however when you consider how much I and Ludivine paid for this trip, as well as our dresses (I was very concerned in case they ripped on of our dresses U_U) and shoes etc... I think we both, and the other people who she was annoying deserved a decent show. So yes, I did that... She then stopped for most of the concert, but some guys pushed her flying, I think they too were annoyed.
They did eventually manage to break my shoe strap off... :angry:

Apart from fan girls, the show was amazing. It was great to be a part of Mon+Amour and experience it like we did. It may seem unfair, that we get treated differently by the band etc, but anyone who wants to join should do it!! It’s a nice thing to be a part of.


Everytime I close my eyes, I'm back in the Elysee Montmartre, With Mana-sama and his band!! There are so many things I could talk about… and tell you how wonderful each member is… but you already know that don’t you? :rolleyes:

Sigh, I really understand you, the experience of the front row is something incredible...also because there are a lot of annoying people behind you that only want do to disturb XD

Moreover I found a lot of people who were complaining about the fanclub, I heard someone say "They're from the fanclub, we have to push them till they faint" XD

Surely to be in front of Mana costs a lot of suffering, it's been a week and I still have signs of the people who pushed and hurt me XD

However...to have seen Mana was really worth it...and yet although I know that Mana looking much more at the front line than at the rest of the fans maybe it's not so fair to the others...well...I have paid for the mon Amour entrance, it's not my fault...

And moreover: at least we don't scream Juka XD (In Italy there were fangirls behind me screaming Kazuno O__o, Mana wasn't very happy about it XD)

Just for curiosity: how many guitarpicks did Mana throw?**

If I'm honest... It felt good to smack somebody. this time last year i couldn't step foot outside my own house... the shows I went to i hid most of the time either at the back or in the toilets XD... It was nice to be my self again and standing up for myself. Even though I dont like being violent or angry.
I guess my brain went lolita too after i discovered my shoe strap was ripped off. I wanted to ruin her life for destroying my outfit XD
I wasnt happy until i found it again so im going to get it repaired soon!

I hate the fact that most of these people who do such things are the 13 years olds whose parents wont pay for the fan club.
No offense to those whose parents have paid their joining fee, Thats aweseome they did it, but we work hard for that money to pay for our fee.

Its not our fault Mana wishes for us to be down the front, I guess its his way for saying thank you, for joining, let alone all the stuff you get anyway. Mon+Amour is probably the best fan club I've been a part of because its so close knit.

Those girls were such a pain. Because I was speaking english all the time they didn't know I could understand them and they were saying nasty things.... like that we were too old to be there (they said we must be like 30... 40 or even... 50... and I was like ^^;; ... seriously...) and that I looked like a bitch...

And they kept screaming Gackt too... they thought it was funny... but people were looking at them like O_o

You should have seen their face when I told them to shut up and stop pushing in french. Hehehehe! Pwnd!

Like Isu-chan said, there was a lot of pushing and shoving... the worse was when we were trying to buy some merchandise. I was scared we would not be able to make it without being crushed to death. Fortunately there were nice people there. Isu-chan lost her shoe strap in the crowd and most of them helped us find it though it was barely impossible. We finally found it... under the merchandise table... phew!

Aside from that the concert was awesome... it's the best thing that ever happened in my life. It was like a dream... and I just wish I could still be there.


For the moment I don't know what else to add to Isu-chan's review but I'll edit as soon as I can think of something else.

when i was washing my clothes, i thought id bought my MdM t-shirt from Harajuku XD
Now after reading this it was the merch stand... it was THAT bad... couldnt brethe at all. but i was more scared about having a ripped dress than fainting XD

You know with as dumb as those fangirls are, it makes me feel even more like us M+A members deserve the privileged of being up front and such. At least Mana knows fanclub members aren't going to sit there and act like assholes towards him and scream out past band members names. guh. I hate stupid people.

No, it's not the older fans. Its the kids. the 13 and 14 year olds... the fans who were like 17+ seemed ok, and obviously M+A didn't bat an eyelid.
But like you said, They tarnish the good people who are not Mon+Amour. I hope you can join Mon+Amour soon. Its wicked to be a part of, Especially for a show!!

The venue!!!!



Though this was taken the night after the concert because I didn't want to take my camera with me since I knew I wouldn't be able to take it inside.
So it was when Mana's mom (Siouxsie) was playing.

It looked crap on the outside but inside was pretty neat... the architecture in the hall was pretty

Yeah! That's because it's one of the oldest venues in Paris.

I second that, the uk has awesome crowds, cause our goths don't have a bitch streak. Mana would love us I swear.
