I have my own Midi: Nette communitiy on myspace and I brought this question up on there a long time ago, but I always like to hear the responces from others on the topic.

If Mana were to ever sign another band under Midi: Nette what kind of band do you think he would sign or what kind of band (based on music and style) would you like to be signed under Midi: Nette?

I always meet so many fans that tell me one day they would like their band to be signed under Midi: Nette, but apparently Mana is extremely picky when signing others under Midi: Nette so sometimes it seems like it would be virtually impossible for a band to be chosen unless they really struck Mana's interest or they happened to have connections with him.

None the less, I think I would be interested in seeing a smaller Japanese band that still had the spirit of an older jrock style, not the visual kei you see now days because those seem a little bit common to me. I think it would be interesting for Midi: Nette to pick up on a band that in its own way kind of corresponded with Mana's world and had an understanding of the music and style Mana likes but sort of branch off in their own originality.

I personally wouldn't like to see a European or any other sort of band from outside of Japan signed under Midi: Nette, mostly because bands from Europe and the US tend to be a lot more agressive than the Japanese with their attitudes. If they were signed under Midi: Nette I think it would go to their heads in some ways and they would try to act like they were better than they really are or something. I think a band signed under Midi: Nette has to have the right attitude, musical style, and performance look about them.

Well, as for me, I have no problem with Amy Lee. However, I wouldn't want her to sing/write a song together with Mana. It just would make my ears bleed. @_@

Well Sarah, i am going to stay on original topic of this thread a say that Midi: Nette should sign a band that has an original sound (very original) but also uncorrupted by the bull**** of the mainstream music around them (i have no problem with mainstream music and never will, even though some songs are over played). Also i do think it would be nice for Midi:Nette to sign a band that is not from Japan.

I hope my band (NICODEMUS) will someday be singed to a label as cool as Midi:Nette.

Song with Amy Lee? No, I don't want it so I hope it won't happen now, or in the future. It's not because I don't like Amy (I'm just uninterested in her person), it's because I presage that it won't be a good song, don't know why, sorry. But back to the band under Midi:Nette - it could be of course a band not from Japan cuz it will be maybe a chance for the other people to know something about Mana and his music. Europan band in this style, image would be perhaps really great. With female-vocalist maybe? ;-P

I dont think it would work out, & I dont think Mana would even be interested. He's so different from her, (in a good way obviously) Im not bashing her, I just never have really liked her even before I seen them in the picture together.

I literally when I first saw it was shocked cause they are so different in styles & whatnot, & I didn't think Amy Lee or anyone over on this side would have really heard or known Mana.

Not to mention the getup Amy wore in the shoot with Mana was...well, yeah. :]

I wouldn't care whether or not the band was from Japan, Europe, or USA. Just as long as they fit in with Mana's label.

But I do think it should be a rather unique band to catch Mana's interest, and actually be signed to his label.

Regarding the whole Amy Lee thing: don't really have an opinion since I haven't heard anything by Evanescense. :P

I dont mind Gwen Stefani, nothing like "fucking WOW!" or anything.... just I dont really pay much attention... though Amy Lee and Evanescence piss me off to no end... partly because my gay friend is besotted with her and I just can't be assed to talk about anyone else in that way other than Mana.

Let's shove Amy lee OUT of the picture. What I wouldn't mind is a band like Velvet Eden or The Candy Spooky Theater being signed to Midi:Nette. I wish with every ounce of my cold blood that Dada would start performing again, he's was my favorite vocalist of all time. I think the band should be melodic and trance-like, not bouncy, but mellow and dreamy, with a tinge of darkness. I think that would do well!

Mana and Kozi would be cool. Since they have many years with their solo projects and has composed great music, it would be great for them to combine their style and see what they come up with. It will just be something exciting to listen to! At least for me it will be! XD

I wouldn't worry too much about Mana partnering with any American bands, even evanescence. Mana is the type of person who wants to be nice to everyone so he acts agreeable...but I don't think he'd ever work with her. I think he likes her music and thats about the extent of it. How she got an interview with Mana, I will never know, but I don't think it was something exceptionally meaningful.

I don't think Mana will ever work on anyone with music, but himself and maybe a little help from his band members. As for concerts with other bands...obviously thats something that could happen. I'm going to a Moi dix Mois concert in August where D'espairs ray AND Moi dix Mois are playing together. (o_o)v Its so weird to me because they're like polar opposites (if you have ever seen D'espairs Ray in concert you probably know what I'm talking about). XD

Mana seems to be branching out to playing with other japanese bands lately, which I find interesting. I wonder why. (o_o)

The fact that Mana will have a new band under his label, or will work together with someone is only a vision of fans etc. As Sarah said, I think similar - that Mana is self-contained and he doesn't need to work with Amy Lee, Gwen Stefani or whoever else. Lol, working with Gwen Stefani? Something crazy for me. He has his own band, he make his own music, and cooperation with the other artist could be bad for his ideas which are for me unique and the only one...

D'espairsRay is of course opposite style of music. I can tell that it doesn't matter who will play together with Moi dix Mois - it would be always like polar opposites, for example with Dir en Grey, Gazette, Kagrra, Vidoll etc... god! when i found out that they had done an interveiw together! i was furious... i kept on thinking 'what if they started dateing eachother' and the likes, i hated her anyway but that was just the turning point, she is stuck up, thinks everyone loves her and she loves herself, she married her therapist! and she has a ego so big it could orbit the sun!

Idk, Amy Lee isn't all that bad. She's delt with alot of shit, i don't really see her as an egotistical person. Staying on topic, i would like to see another darkwave-techno band signed. I loved Schwarz Stein :)

Somehow I love the choir of agony. But its like i feel I should not listen to is, when I do. Like some forbidden thing. Since they left for a while VF, I didnt hear anything, but now I found them again on MS and VF and I still love the depression in their music...
