Title: Moi dix Mois Street Team
Description: Promote the band!

ManaVampire - February 10, 2007 10:33 PM (GMT)
Ok...

So this idea came across to me quite a while back, and I've also kinda written about an idea similar to this before with Celestia Le Ciel.

But anyway, let me explain a little:

Some friends and I want to start supporting Japanese bands coming the US, but we're running into a few problems we have yet to over come. With that, the idea came to me that why don't we just start supporting bands by telling fans about them and such and possibly selling their merchandise for them at venues where other bands play.

Now, I wouldn't so much do this with Moi dix Mois because they're a little above my head in such support (selling merchandise to others), but I though to myself that I -REALLY- enjoy promoting Mana's solo work and I know quite a few of you on here like to "recruite" new fans as well.

What would you guys think of starting up a Moi dix Mois street team with me?

Basically, all we do is get "city leaders" to promote the band and get others to promote it as well. Since we do not have any form of agreement with Moi dix Mois directly we wouldn't be allowed to distribute official merchandise of any sort (and also no burnt cds, dvds, pirated merchandise, etc) unless we got the ok to do such a thing (which I have a feeling we wouldn't), but what would you guys think if we got together as a group to promote Moi dix Mois where we live?

It doesn't have to be limited to the US or Europe or anything, it can be anywhere. Once you get people into the band, you tell more people and have them pass on the word about Moi dix Mois as well. This would create even more of a demand for the band to come to your particular city and possibly tour in the area.

Also, every once in a while on these forums we could have a section set up for ideas on promotion for Moi dix Mois and such and also have some up to date information to share with others (ex- DIXANADU). It wouldn't quite be a one person lead type thing, thats why it would be a group effort where we all share ideas and tips on how to tell people about Moi dix Mois.

If you'd like to do something like that, write what you think on here!

I'd like to promote it on the main website if all goes well, but I'd like to see the interest in something like this first of all because I feel as though we could get in trouble for having a street team without Moi dix Mois' concent. If we get quite a few people who would like to help promote the band sign up, then I'll write out a list of names of people interested in doing thisin an email to Midi: Nette and tell them about the idea. If they say yes, we could go on with it and help promote them (and possibly get them to send us fliers or something).

If you have further questions about the idea or anything at all, please post what you think.

omg, this is a great idea! a pure stroke of genius! I'm all for a Moi dix Mois street team! I've already converted a few people into liking the band, so I think I'm qualified enough. XD besides, I really want Moi dix Mois to perform in Canada, since there's no way I could travel anywhere else outside my country (currently).

sign me up! :D

8D I'm really glad you like the idea! I was a little worried everyone would be like "well you're stupid." XD I'll definately sign you up!

@ ManaVampire: ah dont worry Sarah! the idea is great! :)

@ Mourning Masamune and ChangelingVI: .....which is why a Moi dix Mois Street Team is nessessary! we need more ppl to like the band more (or at least tolerate them as people.) stick it to the man! (I was watching "School of Rock" today.) XD

You obviously don't understand how Northern Ireland works.
I go around promoting a band that's even remotely gothic (and doesn't have emo backing) then I will get stabbed.

God damn you scally's!

And your "happy hardcore" too.

Go listen to some proper music! :P

people wouldn't listen to me for three seconds, they'd just go, 'oh geez, another stupid fanboy and then one of two things could happen:
1. they walk away
2. I get incredibly annoyed and begin to rant, thus decreasing my chances of getting through to them

I like the idea.
Only problem is that I haven't met a single soul interested in Mana's music here in Denmark. Except for one...
And he doesn't live anywhere near me.

Some of the more "funny" comments I've recieved:

"Argh! Turn that noise down!!" (Le Ciel was playing...)
"They are singing in Japanese? I can't stand Japanese" (wouldn't even listen to any of it...)
"If they'd stop screaming, slow down a little, and if you turned the speakers off then they might be bearable"

That's the crowd I'm dealing with. <_<

I guess I had no idea sorry.........I haven't experienced any injustice towards Malice Mizer, Moi dix Mois, Mana, etc so far, so I guess I'm not aware on how hard it is. again, I apologize.

Well, here in Oklahoma there is still a lot of racists and people that see a pic of Mana and say rude and hatefull things about the way he dresses and stuff like that...........i dare not say the word most said.

But there is a good side, i have converted like 6 students at my school, a sudstitute teacher, and the music teacher loves the music, he is just kinda wierded out but the clothing.

So i say that a Moi dix Mois would be a great idea...............i am even a member of a MCR street team.....(i think....my computer hates me).

So if there is to be a MdM street team i will be one of the first to join.

ManaVampire - February 15, 2007 04:37 AM (GMT)
awesome, I'm glad you support the idea! Thats very exciting to me.(^^)

Actually, you'd be surprised how many people in Oklahoma do actually like Jrock. XD They might not be in your area but we get a HUGE crowd of jrock fans from Oklahoma at all our Texas conventions. Probably about half of the jrock fanbase that comes to all the Texas anime conventions to see the Jrock bands are from Oklahoma. I even met an entire (really good) Malice Mizer cosplay group last year from Oklahoma. They memorized the entire dance to Illuminati and performed it at the cosplay contest...and the Mana wouldn't stop talking to me because I was her "twin" XD

Aeronniell - February 15, 2007 09:07 PM (GMT)
I will defienatly try and help out if I can!
I live in a small town, but I've already managed to convert some online friends to loving Mana and Moi dix Mois. And even though people propably hate me for it, I try to spread the love as much as possible.
And there's a Jrock-con in Oslo soon, where I'll cosplay as Mana, so the chance to tell people about him, and perhaps show them some music will defienatly be there.
(The fun will be to whisper all of this in my sister's ear and have her repeat it all, lol)

MissMarie - September 29, 2007 02:42 AM (GMT)
I'd love to join! :D I don't know ANYONE near me that's even heard of MdM. People around here also tend to be kinda prejudiced, but not to the point of physical violence or anything, so it should be ok. Besides, it'll be worth it to know that I'm helping out my favorite band. :)

I'm currently in the official GPKISM street team~
