Gackt's okay. Some of his work I really, really love, and other stuff not so much.

His new album was a beautiful letdown (beautiful only because of some of the art inside the CD booklet), he seems to be trying <i>to</i> hard. His song 'Dispar' is much more dirty then 'Vanila' probably the dirtiest thing I've ever heard.

I'm slightly pissed at the man though. His next <i>dears only</i> *holds in swearing* is in Vancouver. Where I live. And I'm not a dears member because I don't live in Japan. So I can't go. *holds in more angry comments*

Maybe I'll egg whatever car he comes in, or even better cover the cars with pictures of Mana

I've never heard anything of Dears becoming abroad, even though its not like I even follow Gackt in any way, still, lots of Gackt fans talk to me about this kind of stuff. lol thats kinda rediculous to hold a Dears Only concert in a different country. Honestly, exactly how many Japanese people are going to fly over there just for a Dears only concert??

I figure not too many...when Phantasmagoria came over here there were only three girls from Japan following them, so its highly doubtful hes going to have a large audience. I just don't understand that man. ^^;

I really don't like it when fellow Mana fans start attacking Gackt, it's just as bad as when Gackt fans attack Mana.

Although he (Gackt) may have, to some extent, "sold-out", it's no reason to say such horrible things.

Though I do agree that it is extremely stupid to hold a Dears meeting anywhere but Japan. It's rather hypocritical to say he loves all his fans no matter where they're from and then not have an international fan-club.

And I'm aware that I'm probably being rather hypocritical myself but the whole "non-international fan-club" thing upset my little sister (a die-hard Gackt fan), and it makes me angry.

Well, I, of course, adore Mana. His guitaring skills put me in a literal trance state and when I see a picture of him (although pan sexual), I can't help but stare. For the most part, Gackt is not all that great looking, I don't particularly like his voice nor do I like most of the songs he has wrote.

But Mana is *not* pretty, he's gorgeous and beautiful. Gackt can be sexy all he wants. He was *pretty* when he was in Malice Mizer, but not all that great with his solo stuff. We're not being mean, we're being truthful in our opinions.

I loike Gackt, a lot too! I like his voice, his looks, and the fact that he's impossible to figure out. People who are easy to figure out bore me very quickly.
And I think he's a good songwriter. Just listen to the Diabolos-album as a whole, and you'll see. Some of his work is so-so, I can admit that, but the good parts are rrreally good as well.

Mana is better, in every way, there's no doubt about it. But Gackt is not a bad soloartist.

Just being curious here, I don't really know anything about it.

Some people dislike Gackt because they think he left Malice Mizer when they were at their height of popularity just so his solo career would be more successful.
Some people dislike him because they think he's "sold out".
And some people just dislike him.

I don't personally dislike Gackt, but sometimes he just irks me, but that's mostly whenever he starts philosophising (sp?).
And I'm becoming increasingly unfond of his music.

hmm...with all the offense going on in this forum, perhaps it should be deleted or locked? As it was stated before, all that "Gackt dissing" was started quite a while back (a year ago, to be exact) but people randomly started bringing it back up again.

Even though I am not fond of him myself, maybe it would be better for everyone if this thread was deleted. If you guys really want a gackt thread, you can make a new one, but please keep MOST of the content Malice Mizer related-- not solo work.

Until a new thread is created or whatever, this particular thread will be locked. Once the majority has read this post, the thread will be deleted.
