I noticed that we did not have a thread for this game. I've been playing it quite a bit over the past few weeks, and I've finally unlocked all the characters and stages. Pretty fun. I played as Samus in Melee, but I don't really like her in Brawl, so I play Zelda and Lucario now, and occasionally Toon Link.

I'll post my FC whenever I get around to looking it up again so we can play online :P

buffs/nerfs/changes to old characters:

falco - changed:
Basically, nintendo changed up falco so that he isn't a total copy of fox (thank you nintendo). His laser is changed, and his smash moves are changed. Some of his aerial attacks are also changed. I think he's actually cooler than fox now. And for those of you who used to play falco in melee and hoped to play him now, don't fret, I also used to play falco and it wasn't hard to switch at all

fox - nerfed:
Well, we all knew fox was a bit overpowered. Nintendo just slightly nerfed the damage on some of his attacks.

jigglypuff - buffed
Jigglypuff sucks. Period. She still does, but at least nintendo buffed up her attacks and her special attacks are just better in general. Her rest move isn't as game-breaking as in the other 2 versions, but enemies who are hit by it get a flower on their head.

ganandorf - nerfed
Remember the nightmare of ganandorf? I certainly do! I am very glad nintendo nerfed him; he was the night elf of super smash brothers melee. His smash up attack, which was the most damaging move in the game (not to mention it hit TWICE) now only hits once and got a significant damage nerf. His annoying up special attack is now a punch instead of a grab, thus doing like half the damage it did when it was a grab. His annoying side special attack has a slight damage nerf and it's harder to pull off.

captain falcon - nerfed
Actually, the only thing nerfed about captain falcon was his side special attack and up special attack. The changes are the same as ganandorf's.

link - nerfed & buffed
His attacks in general got a damage nerf, but his up special attack got hella buffed. You can also charge it now.

secret characters:

You can get every single secret character by completing the adventure mode except Jigglypuff, wolf, and toon link, so I'll go over only those three. Also, as a side note, I'll only tell you the easiest way to get them. There are at least three ways to get every character.

jigglypuff: After you complete adventure mode, complete events 1-20, and jigglypuff will challenge you. I already described her above, so I won't bother going over her moves besides her final smash. She inflates a bunch and pushes everyone off the stage. When she is at the peak of her size, she screams her name. Anyone touching her while she screams it gets blown away with a lot of damage.

toon link: After completing the adventure mode, beat classic with Link. It can be on any diffculty, hell, I did it on very easy with 5 lives (lol, fail). He is basically the same thing as young link from melee except without the cool effects from his moves (for example, no burning arrows, they're only regular arrows). He's a pretty useless character imo; it's much better just to use regular link. However, there are a ton of things you can unlock using him. Just check your check list for the challenges. His final smash is the same as link's: the person who is hit by it (note: they have to actually be hit by it as if you were hitting them with any regular attack) gets slashed up and torn into pieces and on the last hit they are blown away.

wolf: After completing adventure mode, go back to stage 14 (the ruins). There will be a point in the second part where you go down this elevator shaft. It's the one where you have to avoid the spikes on the way down and several metal primids come and try to attack you. You eventually get to the door you took originally to pass the level. Completely ignore it and keep going along with the platform. The platform will eventually disappear. Don't worry about it, just keep falling. You'll come across a door. Quickly enter it, since a bunch of enemies will try to attack you as soon as you land. You will then fight wolf. Beat him, and you get him. Wolf is sort of like fox except he's stronger but slower. His laser is different because it fades after traveling some distance, unlike fox's and falco's lasers which keep going until the end of the screen. His side special attack puts him in the air, which is different than fox and falco because they stay on the ground. His special up is pretty much the same as fox and falco except he's not on fire but it takes a shorter amount of time for him to charge and then go up. His final smash is also landmaster, but its so much harder to control and it does not float as well. However, the lasers are a lot more powerful and are pratically one-hit k.o.'s.

Zelda also got significantly buffed, but Sheik got nerfed a bit, so it balances out a bit.

Smash attacks are stronger, and her specials travel farther and have bigger hitboxes. It takes a bit more finesse to play Zelda now it seems. I was pleasantly surprised at how strong she was, really.

Pit is my favorite character. Even though his attacks aren't that strong most of the time, his glide ability is just too awesome. Plus, he can jump, like, 4 times once in the air. Even though his Final Smash isn't as direct as others, he's still awesome. Course, I can't compare him to the other characters except Meta Knight. >> :P

I used Marth's final smash and freaked out Hoh because I was on the other side of the arena when I hit him :).

Oh, and I hate Mr. Resetti D:<.

From what I saw, it was a long stabbing lunge move, so I guess he could reach all the way to the other side, depending on the map's size.

I love this game. I played as Marth in the last one, and he's still my best character in this one. And yeah, his Final Smash goes all across any platform, as long as it's a continuous surface.

My second best is either Sonic or Lucario. Sonic is just too fast for people to hit, and I love it. Also, his up special is invaluable because he can do other things after using it.

Lucario is great for me because I often survive for a while before I lose a life, keeping a lot of damage. Lucario gets stronger the more damage he has on him. Also, I'm very good at getting the Smash Ball with him.

My next best is Pokemon Trainer. I just love playing as this character. Nuff said.

No, that's quite true. Lucario's my secondary. I use him whenever some asshole *cough*Jason*cough* just keeps using close quarters exclusively. His counter move is invaluable.

Some of you will get that, most will not. I have a fierce Brawl rivalry going with my friend, and he's one of those people. We always play no items, and he always chooses either Final Destination or Bridge of Eldin :P But I've been kicking his ass with Zelda, so it's okay.

I personally think that there is one new character that isn't a god mod but stiil.. I don't know cheap? Pit.. I don't like him and yeah I may be good with him but I think most other people are.

My personal favotire though would have to be Ganondorf, I like him A LOT more then I did in the previous installment of the game. I just wish I could get my Wi-Fi working..
