Today I visited the local gamestop to buy a game. Suddenly, I realized I had my DS in my pocket. Having just got it, I read a lot about the DS download play feature, and how it works in most video game stores, so I gave it a shot.
I hit DS download play and was given an option to select that said "DS Download Play Vol. 7", so I clicked it. Lo and behold, there it was, a playable demo of Ninja Gaiden for download. Needless to say, I played through it in the store (since DS download games last only as long as you keep your system on), and it's amazing.
Every stroke of the stylus did an action, but you had to stroke the stylus over Ryu to get him to preform attacks. Up Up Down is the famous Izuna drop. Tapping down twice and holding puts him in a charge up state. While charging, a white spiral swirls around him and he can release a powerful slash. However, hold down the button for a few seconds and the spiral becomes red, and he is then able to unleash a powerful barrage of red slashes. Ninpo is fairly simple, you just tap the ninpo icon on the top left of the screen and fill in the kanji letter that comes up. Tapping anywhere throws a shuriken. Tapping near Ryu, sort of above him makes him jump. You can double jump as well. The camera angles are extremely well done, and while the stylus is the key on defense, every other button on the DS is used to block.
The graphics are great, sound is awesome, and the fighting is just as intense as the other games.
Needless to say, I put my preorder deposit on it today. I can't wait for march 26th. =]
Who else has played the demo or seen the previews and wants this game?
Is it 2D or 3D? I've played Ninja Gaiden on Xbox and that was a good experience.

It's 3D! The graphics are less than xbox quality, but they're still amazing for the DS.
Hmm I've heard of this game but have never played it...considering your positive comments on it Sky, I'll give it a shot.
Is it as difficult as the original Ninja Gaiden? :P Sorry, had to ask. I still haven't beat the original. XD

Most likely not, since I can't imagine how people would pull off all the moves necessary to beat the original with a stylus o.o
Oh yeah and keep in mind: This ISN'T a remake. It's a new game ^ ^
and it comes with a sword stylus.
