Okay, I've taken the one little pop-up error I get whenever I enter a topic, but I will NOT deal with this new c-box. It SERIOUSLY just gave me 10 popups. SERIOUSLY. GET RID OF IT.

It's not the shout-box, it's not hosted anywhere, its a IF code, hosted Remotly on IF.

Seriously, it won't give you anything IF doesn't. It's integrated with the forum and links to no remote sites. There really should be no problem, and seeing as you're the only one to report a problem with it so far, I'd be inclined to guess that it's your computer that's the root of these problems.

Run a virus scan and a spyware scan. That will likely reveal the source of your problems if I'm right.

I already did Beat. It just so happened the first time I came when the Shoutbox was installed. I will seriously stop coming to JE if this Shoutbox stays, because it fcks with my computer.

Out of interest, what do the pop-ups you get say? That would likely give you a clue to the source of the problem. If not a virus, I'd guess it has something to do with your Javascript settings (Seeing as it's a javascript c-box).

It varies between line numbers and reasons, the most common being f.list.off.parent or something. And the other is div something.

Strange. Mind giving me one of the exact messages to see if I can try and help you here? Also, what browser are you using, out of interest?

(On an unrelated note, that bug where the shoutbox only loads on some pages seems to be restricted t firefx. Loads everywhere fine in IE :S)

SMOS: My situation and your situation are different. My only advise is to download an Internet searching program that is not IE. Opera is a suggestion.

Or you can try downloading the latest javascript. Sometimes having an out dated program will mess your comp up and give you errors. I'm pretty sure the c-box requires one of the latest javascripts. I don't know the names of the different java's though..But firefox won't solve your problem anyways trust me it's most likely your JAVA. I really suggest you get an updated Java.

Regardless of the semantics of who is the lifeblood of the c-box, listen to this guy. He's smart. It's most likely a problem with your computers handling of javascript requests, although exactly how it's messed up, I'd be hard pressed to tell you.

Thanks and how it's messed up depends on how old the computer is and how outdated it is. Since I know neither I can't say, but like I was at college Macromedia Pro 8 class and working with the sounds area and it wouldn't work on the computer. It had quicktime but still didn't work. It was because the quicktime was a 2.0 verison and didn't have the knowledge to process the sound data I was trying to use since the data had to be used in conjection with quicktime 4.0 or higher. I think SMOS's problem is similar to that. His Java can't work with a program that isn't programed to work on that verison of Java. Of course I could be wrong, but I don't think so. Hope this helps you SMOS.

I had already updated Java, and I tried it again, just to see if it didn't work. Still getting errors >=O

Hmm not Java? You got a firewall maybe? That might be blocking it. Like because of my lame computer I can't use Limewire at all. It'll just freeze my computer and then I have to manually shut it down. I really can't say why you're getting errors...You are the only one to say that your getting errors so it has to be a problem with your computer coming into contact with something it doesn't like. You got any type of Vista? Vista blocks and freezes up computers when coming into contact with certain stuff as well. If you type the exact error message you get I can ask my computer teachers and try to get some info for you. I'm sure they can help you out.

C-box gives me errors on FireFox too. DO NOT WANT! D:<

Sorry, but there's a couple reasons as to why I'm going to keep this chat box in favor of the old one:

1. It's more secure, which means no random morons can come in and be retarded, nor can those morons pose as members and be retarded.
2. According to the person who coded this chat box, you're the only one who has problems like what you're saying, leading me to believe that the problem is on your end, not ours.
