Title: Choose your starter!
Description: frpm Diamond and Pearl!

Jounin Elite - April 25, 2007 03:57 AM (GMT)
I go with Chimchar. I always take the fire pokemon and never regret it once. Besides, he's a monkey! Out of all non-human animals, monkeys probably the most ninja-like :P.

Sensi Karate - April 25, 2007 04:53 AM (GMT)
I've only played a few Pokemon games, but I usually choose the Fire or Water Pokemon. So Whatever is Fire or Water, Is my choice. :P

~Sensi

Sky - April 25, 2007 12:16 PM (GMT)
Pilup!
He's a penguin!

He is now the second best water starter.
Yeah. Totodile was a punk IMO.

Akatsuki - April 25, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
:( It's so sad...I've played pokemon..and it makes me a bad person :(

Chimchar.

Jinchuuriki - April 25, 2007 10:35 PM (GMT)
Chinchar, because monkeys rule and fire rules, a combination just makes it 2x rulez! So definatly Chimchar :D

Jounin Elite - April 25, 2007 11:11 PM (GMT)
I think I might just buy my own game and use it on other people's DS when I can :P.

Let's all laugh at Keimatsu, he uses Turtwig. :P

-JE-

beat89 - April 25, 2007 11:33 PM (GMT)
Just buy a damn DS JE XD

Probably the water dude. He's a penguin!

But the fire monkey is semi-cool as well.

Arch - April 26, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
penguins rules, so does pilup's last evolution... i want pokemon pearl to get to south america soon... :(

Exiledsword - April 26, 2007 12:16 AM (GMT)
i got the turtwig, only cause my brother always picks the water one so i can pwn him. :P

my favorite-looking one is chimchar though..JEs got a point hes a monkey lol

Shino - April 26, 2007 06:53 PM (GMT)
I was gonna get Piplup but then saw the evolutions and realized Chimchar reaches a much cooler level.

Arch - April 26, 2007 08:14 PM (GMT)
i'll alwails think pilup rules, his last evolution won't be weak against grass, because it'll be water/steel, turtwig has lousy moves... and chimchar is a copy of torchic... that looks like a monkey...

SasukeUchiha - June 18, 2007 10:34 PM (GMT)
I have beaten the Elite Four using each of the starters (at there last form) and using Turtwig was the easiest but, I still like Chimchar the best.

Chopstix - June 18, 2007 10:41 PM (GMT)
Isn't it spelled Piplup?

Kakashi Elite - June 18, 2007 10:51 PM (GMT)
Man, you guys are really obsessed with this game. It kinda wants me to scoop up a used DS, since my step-bro has the game. I'll just take it :P

And I choose Chimchar. Just like JE, I always pick the fire Pokemon except for on Ruby/Sapphire. I would always pick Mudkip!! Swampert Rules! :P

Zakou - June 19, 2007 10:32 PM (GMT)
Turtwig gets my vote. He can destroy both starters :) He can learn good tms, and god knows that tms are abundant in the game lol. Earthquake= AWESOME. :)

Jounin Elite - June 19, 2007 10:35 PM (GMT)
Granted, Torterra would likely own Empoleon, but it's way too slow. Infernape would have a chance at winning if it used Flare Blitz or some other strong fire type move.

And Infernape could also own Empoleon with Close Combat.

-JE-

Kakashi Elite - June 19, 2007 10:40 PM (GMT)
There's no starter that can beat both other starters, its impossible if they are the same level. If you haven't noticed they always made one starter be able to pwn another, which means they are all equal. They all also have diffrent ways of growing, such as, squirtle has great defense. Bulbasaur leveled up alot faster than the rest, and charmander had the advantage in attack. So no starter pwns both :P

--KE--

Zakou - June 19, 2007 10:58 PM (GMT)
Actually Torterra CAN beat them all. Just because its slow does not means its hindered lol. When I put my then 53 Torterra against BOTH Rapidash AND infernape, they got raped, and both used a fire move on Torterra. Torterra didn't die :) I <3 Torterra... It's an ankylosaurus hybrid. XD Ankylosaurus is my favorite dinosaur :) :) :)

Kakashi Elite - June 19, 2007 11:00 PM (GMT)
I dont know what the hell you just said but I already said that they have to be the same level. No duh, A level 53 Pokemon will beat another thats a lower level but if you put the starter lvl 5 Pokemon all against each other, they will all lose against each other :P

Davis - June 19, 2007 11:00 PM (GMT)
torterra can acctully beet them because even with a fire attack and infernapes STAB torterras high defence allows him to survive through strong attacks.

Kakashi Elite - June 19, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
Man, you need grammar help :P

I think you were posting as I posted myine before you, so you didn't read my post that destroys yours :P

if their level 5, but if their all level 80 then they can all hurt each other.

Torterra can use earthquake on infernape and any grass attack on empolian

Infernape can use close combat on empolian and any fire attack on torterra

Empolian can use a ice attack on torterra and any water attack on infernape.

They can all super effect each other so even at the same level any starter can beet any starter.

and if your talking to me yeah my grammer sucks ass :P

Jounin Elite - June 19, 2007 11:25 PM (GMT)
Grass isn't much against Empoleon because it's steel type, Earthquake is better.

But Infernape has the advantage in some ways because it's much faster than either of them, as I've said before :P.

-JE-

Davis - June 20, 2007 04:36 AM (GMT)
He's the fastest but you could always just give the other two a quick claw or something. I don't really know anything about the other starters though i just think torterras the best and theres no point and getting the other two.

Kakashi Elite - June 20, 2007 04:40 AM (GMT)
You say he's the best but yet explained out thoroughly how the other two could beat him? They all can kill each other, and even at level 5 they can hurt each other.

You know what I noticed? That there's never been a level 4 or below Pokemon, amazing :P

Zakou - June 20, 2007 05:08 AM (GMT)
There are a ton of them in Red and Blue version... Mainly Pidgey and Rattata though...

What I MEANT to say was that my lv 53 Torterra took on Flint's Rapidash and Infernape, which are like 54 and 60 I think. Torterra's defense is just awesome, and it can easily withstand a fire attack long enough to use Earthquake to stifle its oppossition.

Kakashi Elite - June 20, 2007 05:11 AM (GMT)
But this isnt about Flint's pokemon its about the starters :P

Zakou - June 20, 2007 05:37 AM (GMT)
Gyar.. Well... Technically I included my Starter (Torterra) so it is valid! XD

Kakashi Elite - June 20, 2007 05:39 AM (GMT)
The main idea is Starter vs. Starter, not Starter vs. High Lvl Pokemon :P

Zabuza4 - June 20, 2007 08:29 AM (GMT)
I Pick Piplup Because He's Blue & I LUV BLUE

Davis - June 20, 2007 02:09 PM (GMT)
lol Kakashi dosent want to lose. Anyway ya they can all beat each other but torterra in my opinion has the highest chance to kill the other two.

So do you, lol. :P

Yes, KE has a very hyper-competitive streak and will belligerently insist that he's right and you're all wrong, even when the facts prove him completely wrong slap him in the face like a pimp on his ho. He will even try to avoid admitting he's wrong. He also has no idea what Pi is and doesn't believe in it. And if someone posts something that completely disproves KE's post, he'll say that it makes no sense, even though it makes complete sense, enough sense for a 5 year old to understand. If he somehow knows that you've proven him wrong, he'll call you an idiot or something like that and make up more fake reasons as to why he thinks he's right.

I picked Chimchar as my starter. In my opinion, Infernape can own the other starters. Infernape has a very high speed and attack abilities. And guess what? Flare Blitz and Close Combat are physical attacks. Add that to speed, which will allow Infernape to attack first. Then add the high attack power and STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus), and voila! Empoleon and Torterra get owned.

Kakashi Elite - June 20, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
You must have some kind of mental illness, and from me, I feel bad for you. Actually, I don't a give a sh*t. So now I'm in the wrong for not believing in Pi. Once again, I am being put down because I'm not on the bandwagon with you retarded people. And my grammar is not horrible or bad, sometimes I have to rush when I post, and I don't see the errors. Plus, this is typing not writing, so you can't judge anyones grammar on the internet. and I'm not very competitive at all, I'm just stating the facts. No matter how you put it, you can't go against what the creators have done. They aren't going to make a starter that surpasses the rest because it wouldn't be an equal fight. All of them are strong in their own way, and each of them can kill each other, as simple as that.

Chopstix - June 20, 2007 05:36 PM (GMT)
I love you all, now lets stop trying to see who has the bigger Internet Ego and go back to the topic, I think it was about Pokemon. can't really tell, here let me draw you both a diagram.

user posted image

As you can see, both of you have stayed off topic and your pointless arguing has led you to hit a wall, thus getting you nowhere.

Now...

I chose Piplup just because it was effective angst the first gym and, it was effect against 2/4 elite 4.

Kurosaki Ichigo the Vizard - June 20, 2007 05:40 PM (GMT)
Lol, I forgot to mention KE's funny ways of making crappy insults.

It has nothing to do with the proverbial bandwagon. It has to do with the smart decision. Close Combat's a fighting type which is super effective against Steel, which Empoleon happens to partly be. Flare Blitz is super effective against Grass types, which Torterra happens to partly be.

So in the case of the proverbial bandwagon, you would rather use a Magikarp in a battle against a friend than use a Magmortar?

Lol, Chopstix, nice drawing.

Budew did wonders for me with her Poison Spikes against the first gym.

Chopstix - June 20, 2007 05:47 PM (GMT)
I had a Shinx, A Kricktune (which did wonders in both gyms), a Prinplup, (Hardcore training to make sure I would beat the gym leader). That was a winning Combo for the first two gyms.

Kakashi Elite - June 20, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
There's always a starter put there that is good against the first gym leader if you haven't noticed. Squirtle (Brock), Piplup (First Gym Leader), and so on. I just forgot all of the gym leader's names :P And that was not in any way an insult, I was serious. I really do think you have a mental illness, no joke.

~KE

Kurosaki Ichigo the Vizard - June 20, 2007 06:00 PM (GMT)
I assure you, no mental illness here, although I'm a bit sleep deprived from finals. You don't seem very serious. Then again, who would take you seriously?

I had a friend who used a very effective, yet cheap strategy. He has 6 level 3 Rattata. Each one is holding a Focus Sash (not Band). When a Rattata gets attacked, its HP is reduced to 1. It then uses Endeavor, to bring the enemy's HP to 1, and then uses Quick Attack on the next turn. He took out 6 level 100's like this.

Kakashi Elite - June 20, 2007 06:15 PM (GMT)
Damn. Just plain Damn. He's smart as hell, I never thought of that. Then again, I'm not that obsessed with Pokemon to think of a strategy like that :P

~KE

Chopstix - June 20, 2007 06:22 PM (GMT)
Its a common plan that is. a lot of people use it. I use lvl 1 rattata's though. Its funnier that way.
