Jounin Elite - March 19, 2007 12:46 AM (GMT)
Just curious to see how many people here actually listen to Japanese music other than songs used for soundtracks, intros, and outros :P.
My favorite bands/artists would be, in no particular order:
1. Orange Range
2. HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR
3. YUI
4. Home Made Kazoku
5. Flow/L'Arc~en~Ciel
The Pillows are also pretty good :P.

I used to like AFKG a lot more than I do now. I still like them, but just not as much lol.
Nobodyknows+ is a really good band. I got a couple songs by them recently, and they have one that's really good called What's Going On. It's really catchy :P.

Ryuzaki-san - September 18, 2007 01:05 AM (GMT)
1. Maximum the Hormone
2. KOTOKO
3. Aice5
4. Ali Project
5. UVERworld
I find it funny how all my top five favourite Japanese bands/artists have completely different sounding music. Maximum the Hormone is more on the heavy metal side, while Aice5 is moreso a bridge between J-pop and J-rock. KOTOKO adds techno into the mixture and UVERworld is one of the many Orange Range-esque bands. Ali Project has more of a gothic feel to it.

There is this band called Shanadoo. They sing in English but their style and songs are completely related to Japan and it's just there for some good mood!
