Title: zetaboards?

willsc8forwings - June 24, 2007 10:21 PM (GMT)
Well I'm sure there is going to be a zetaboards version of this in time, but what are you going to do with the name IFBoard?

Alawe - June 24, 2007 11:14 PM (GMT)
ZB Board? Why not?

Pulse - June 25, 2007 02:45 AM (GMT)
Zeta Board Board. That just doesn't sound right. ZSupport or something like that sounds better...

Dan Mackay - June 25, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
just dont switch to that crap softwere

Pulse - June 26, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
Zeta Boards is pretty much a replica of Invision Power Board. I once posted this on InvisionFree, those 'staff' deleted it because they refused it wasn't a replica. If you notice, pretty much the ENTIRE board is copied from IPB 1.3. I just can't wait until those folks from IPB realize that, unless Brandon and Matt have a deal.

What about ZBoard?

QUOTE (Pulse)

You mean IPB 2.0?

Pulse - July 2, 2007 01:32 PM (GMT)
You can say that. They copied bits from IPB 1.3 and from IPB 2.0 and higher.

I just don't like ZetaBoards, I won't be switching to it if they don't satisfy me.

I have had so many problems with Zeta I will be sticking with IF

willsc8forwings - July 3, 2007 01:54 AM (GMT)
Why it comes with some amazing features, plus the layout is nice.

gamecubechamp12 - July 3, 2007 02:08 AM (GMT)
If you upgrade, there is no turning back. I have had no luck with the domains andimages

willsc8forwings - July 3, 2007 04:36 PM (GMT)
I'm just saying it's really nice when you compare it to IPB 1.3.

Pulse - July 3, 2007 04:44 PM (GMT)
Well, I know that I won't be upgrading this site to Zetaboard.

but a lot of people from invisionfree are...

leptys3 - July 5, 2007 09:01 AM (GMT)
and also, if you upgrade you need also toreconvert the skins and codes :/

gamecubechamp12 - July 5, 2007 03:00 PM (GMT)
In my opinion, i would wait to the full version, and register a test board and use the same settings to simulate what it would look like before upgrading.

That's the ONLY reason not to upgrade, there's not "also" about it.

A conversion for codes wouldn't be very hard; skins are a different matter.

Actually there are a lot of zetaboard skins around ( right now 120+). At this rate you will have everything and more by the time it really comes out.

Pulse - July 8, 2007 12:58 PM (GMT)
Everyone is getting prepared for the ZB released. I won't be upgrading.

Bond22 - July 17, 2007 06:55 PM (GMT)
Although I've seen harsh reviews about ZB. I probably wont be upgrading as well. Not because of its "unique" look that closely resembles IPB 2 . But the way its organized. Im not used to ZB yet.

Adam - July 24, 2007 11:19 AM (GMT)
ZB? Hmmm, The Software looks pretty cool! Also It has much more features, I don't see reason why not upgrade?

I know IPB is popular software, but it costs much O_O!!! Someone just can't afford it!
So we users of IPB (Inivisiofree) now have a opportunity to upgrade forums, aslo you can get free forums for TESTING everything!

So, I prefer it, and I think I'll move my forums!

Hauzer-Ninja - July 24, 2007 11:33 AM (GMT)
I like InvisionFree a little bit more better than ZetaBoards,

ZetaBoards is alright, but to me looks pretty weired, I also agree with Pulse when he says, it's still a little like IPB, I think it's gotten quite alot of features from it too.

Adam - July 24, 2007 07:23 PM (GMT)
-Yeah it does! Only what different are skins!

bossanova - July 25, 2007 04:02 AM (GMT)
ok, I signed up just because of this topic, so sue me.

Ever since I found something else, I can fully say I will not be upgrading. You know you could keep this board as IFBoard, because the option to create an IF board will still be available even after the upgrade. Just don't offer ZB stuff.

Actually, because I've heard many of the lousy reviews, I've been in search of people who don't want to upgrade. Especially those who expected better, instead of a replica

Pulse - July 25, 2007 01:30 PM (GMT)
Well, I'm atleast glad to still know people that won't be switching. Either way, Invisionfree (ZetaBoard) might even stop giving support/etc for InvisionFree...

RubyNut - July 26, 2007 12:09 AM (GMT)
Ill just stick with my boards being IPB v1.3 not hosted by IF

ive tried a beta ZB and i dont like it much seeing that the user number of the Main Account on a ZB board isn't 1

I asked this on the support board
QUOTE
when looking at profiles on a zetaboard thingy why doesnt it show the user number on the link

like profile/1/

instead of somthing like "profile/19760/"

for user number 1

And got this anwser from Ben
QUOTE
Because the user IDs are now kept across the entire server rather than for each board. So in your example, that account could be the first account on the board, but it's the 19,760th account on the server.

Alawe - July 27, 2007 09:49 PM (GMT)
The main complaint is the Admin CP.

Pulse - July 28, 2007 03:02 AM (GMT)
Only if ZB doesnt rip from other companies. They should learn something on their own instead of acting all professional. SpreeBB/Jcink are one of the best in my opinion, since mods come ready-installed, and their support is fantastic.

If they improve by next year, or atleast by December of this year, I think more IF users will want to move to ZB.

What does Zeta mean anyway? And what's up with a separate support forum ? Why not just keep it on InvisionFree. You haven't moved official, ZetaBoards is still under development... it just doesn't make much sense.

Pulse

Alawe - July 28, 2007 06:34 PM (GMT)
The separate one is just for users to test ZB out. When ZB is released, the original will be converted to ZB and the other one will be deleted.

I find ZetaBoards extremely original in terms of layout and features. JCink's board software relies on flat files, which is never fun. Speaking of which, I'm going to go update my list of software again.

JadedOne - July 30, 2007 04:46 PM (GMT)
IPBFree is nice free forum hosting provider too.......

I'm seriously thinking of moving my board over to them, they at least have a search function that works on their boards......

Who knows when ZB's will finally be officially released, it could be years or decades from now......

Espalon - July 31, 2007 03:20 AM (GMT)
Pulse - Some of the features that are in ZB happen to be a mandatory thing. It's like saying that ZB is stealing IF's edit feature, or Add Reply feature. Other things were requested by the memberbase, what they wanted.

gamecubechamp12 - It's in BETA. There's bound to be a few glitches here and there. And you also chat s***.

Not to mention what some of you others are saying is complete utter rubbish. iPBFree is a good forum host? They obviously have great trust in their product, as shown by their support board which is hosted by vBulletin. JadedOne, you try making your own fully fuctional forum host while squeezing everyday life into it. Go on.

JadedOne - July 31, 2007 02:42 PM (GMT)
Opinions are like a**holes Espalon, everyone has one.......... :yup:

Haven't you see the User CP? In terms its nearly similar. I just don't like Zetaboards nor it's services.

There are not many new features when you think about it, that and all the codes made for IF, kinda could make IF like IPB 2.0, so I will not be going ZB.

RubyNut - January 2, 2008 11:40 PM (GMT)
they are probly not gonna do any updates to the IF part of the service, like new features and all

Hauzer-Ninja - January 5, 2008 10:10 PM (GMT)
They probably will do updates, but not as much.

Their main concentration is at ZetaBoard, and I believe it's ZetaBoards full release now. =]

ZB sucks, any one ever heard of JFB?

Yes, it is.

They have a lot of nice things that IP.Board had
A gallery and other stuffs.

RubyNut - January 20, 2008 08:56 AM (GMT)
JFB is 100 times better than IF :woot: :bye:

With a JFB you can have Better Security against SpamBots
