I stumbled across this great site called japanator.com. They have news on everything including Japan, manga, video games, anime and anime industry information. It was there that I found out New Type magazine is halting production with the last mag coming out in Feb! After Geneon shut down last year, and right quickly at that, and now New Type is on the outs, makes me wonder what's next. Of course, New Type was ridiculously expensive. I liked it, but there was no way I was putting out a hundred plus bucks for a yearly subscription.

Either way, check it out. Something else they have, are Japan radio podcasts where they introduce current Japanese music of different genres. I've listened to two so far and have found two or three bands I wouldn't mind checking out. This is especially good if you have problems listening to internet radio from Japan like I do.
