Ok i am seriousley thinking of changing my small tank to sand. What does everyone else think? The fish are neon and cardinal tetras and corydoras julii. I plan to get some more corydoras julli but thats all.
What do you think?

got any pictures of the current set-up tim? I like the idea of sand mixed in with a larger sized gravel. I have a tank with standard gravel that i want to add some sand to but i dont want to break the tank down to do this, i have been thinking of ways to lay it down while the tank is still runnning. as for your fish, i dont think the tetras will care what they are swimming over but i think it might be kinder on the corys with the sand (dont know much about corys though)
I've had tanks with both sand and gravel. While sand does look nice and doesn't allow algae to grow very well, it is more difficult to clean. I don't think I'll ever go back to sand. Without knowing your current setup I can't give any more advice. FYI, I had Cory's with a sand bottom and they were cool to watch. They would suck the sand up and it would come out their gills.
