Shiroiyuki's Fanart Forum...news box.....

I don't know if you guys will like it, but I thought maybe a futureistic/"new millenium" theme would be cool (i don't know if that is how u spell those words >.<). The rules are like this:

1. Remeber Shiroiyuki's rules
2. All Drawings must be drawn yourself. So in other words, don't just take a drawing and color it.
3. You CAN use a character from an anime/manga/video game, as long as it is not against Rule #1.
4. It must have a futureistic theme

The time and holiday don't really matter/situation for contest: future
It can be fanart or fanfiction
The background should also be futureistic.

Think of what the future would look like and be smart.

I don't really know how else I can explain it, but just tell me if you like it or not.

Hmmm, so you basically mean drawing original/anime characters in 'futuristic' clothing and settings....?

That sounds pretty cool, although I don't know how I would actually name that one...

It's just so vague. Some type of specifications might suit me more.

That is a good thing. Having a wide range of things that you can draw will make the contest more exciting, AND it will be cool to see what people thought up and drew.

I agree that giving everyone their own choice of what to draw is a good thing, however maybe Kade is right: Maybe this contest idea needs some structure.

Perhaps we could make it so the characters drawn would have to be from an 'old japanese' setting, turned futuristic 'goth' or something... (i.e. the characters from Kenshin in clothing that resembles the Wallflower outfits, or something. )

That sounds good...like taking characters that normally would be in an old/ancient setting (like InuYasha) and futurizing them? I'm not sure what you mean by futuristic "goth" though. I've been thinking along the lines of mecha and high tech stuff.

^ yeah, mecha works . I just meant 'goth' as out of the ordinary...victorian styles, rich blacks, funky outfits, that sort of thing.

But, mecha definately works! I just don't know what Kenshin would look like as a gundam pilot...

So long as Kenshin could use the Amakaruryunohiromeki he would win. I like the idea more now. Plus there a lot of charaters that would be fun to do in future form.

Hmmmm....maybe if you all like it, I'll create a contest that uses this idea

HEY! What about the fanfiction side to it?!? You could maybe write up a short story of how some (insert old-japanese themed anime here) characters found their way to 2040 Japan....

The fanfiction part can just be left out I think. Cus now I'm thinking that it might be too much. But I think you guys pretty much got the idea. Old japanese gone futuristic.

It depends on how many people enter, really. There has to be more than one entry in a given category for it to be a contest, so someone would have to make sure that there is at least two entries secured in both the art and writing aspect of the contest. Or you could just throw them all together and pick the entry that best portrays the theme.

I'd rather do kadees idea but this one sounds fine. I don't see how it's really gonna work but we'll see.

Technically, Teh Kade's idea was set to be finished during Gemini (late May early June). I think we have time to do another small contest in between, but I guess we'd need more people than just me, Shiroiyuki and XelNaga.
