Wow, it's been awhile since our last contest! I present to you all, a 'revamped' version of Xel'Naga's idea....one that I hope will catch your interests!


THE OLD SCHOOL GOES FUTURISTIC contest!!!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to take a character from an old school anime (Ranma, Kenshin, InuYasha, just to name some...) and transfer them to another dimension--full of techy stuff (like the world of Evangelion, Gundam, Bubblegum Crisis, etc.) ?

Well, here is your chance to find out! This contest allows you to 'stretch' the posibilies, paring your fav old-school characters with new, futuristic backdrops!

Here are the rules:

1. Must be CLEAN! This means NO HENTAI, GRAPHIC NUDITY, OR WHATNOT... I'm so not joking.

2. Artwork, or Fanfiction (yeah, that's right), must represent a character from an anime that is old-world based (i.e. set in the past, or in a world without too much technical advances), that find's his/her way to the 'future'. How ever you do this, and however you want to present it--that's your call!

3. All submissions must be clearly marked (mostly for my use...but, so that others may also know what it represents). You don't have to actually say on the artwork who your character is and what 'world' he/she has found herself in, but in the submission, please include this information.

4. If your work is fanfiction, make sure to include a short disclaimer, background information (character info, plot info), and anything else that will help your readers out. Your story may NOT CONTAIN any lemon-esque passages, but it may be rated R (for violence, whatnot...). Please also make sure to spell-check, and grammer/punctuation check. If it is unreadable, I won't accept it. Also, please submit your fanfiction via file attachment. If it is too large to attach, try to convert your text to notepad.

When did you post art Yuki? Last one I remember was in that thread where you had the niffty pics of the old guy and penguin. I still wanna see the rest of the art from that one. :poke:

Well, If you want Kade, we could have your contest be due on May 28, my Birthday, which I believe is close to the end of the Gemini period. And, we could push the deadline for this contest to April 25th or something. That way, people will still have time to draw something for the next one, and not feel pressured.


Give me your ideas on the contest deadlines. Your opinions matter more than mine in these situations ^_^.

I posted a pic in the fanart section not too long ago...I think it was The Yuki Chronicle art one. Only Zemo (who has disappeared as of late.... :( ) posted a reply. *sigh* I was happy he noticed, but....still pretty sad about the whole thing. It was just a rough sketch, but, I wanted to do more.

I am working on a HUGE one right now (4 x 2 1/2 feet), and don't know when it will be done (but it HAS to be finished by May 1st, so that is my deadline....). Maybe I'll try to get a 'before' and 'after' shot of it. It is only in its 'underpainting' stage at the moment :rolleyes:

Actually, Gemini goes until late June (it starts in late May), so we technically have tons of time for Kade's contest...

Anyway, the 25th sounds great. I'll get to work on my picture right away.

Oh yeah (lol), I forgot that it goes into June :rolleyes:

Mind if we make the deadline for Kade's idea on *checks calendar*....June 20th?


That way, we will have TONS of time in-between the two! :)

I'm in a college class right now! <:) My classes are easy this time around. The only problem is because they are I kinda get lazy about doing the required stuffs.

Someone shouldn't freak out. . . . we're gonna try, its not our fault if we CAN"T!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Xel....please don't get mad at us. :( If we can't get to this contest right now; it WILL be done later on!!

I promise, okay :) Some of us are just dealing with really hectic situations at the moment...try to be patient and understanding ;). It won't be long until school lets out, and we finally have more time to spend on these contests!!!


*jumps up and down* I can't wait to get out for the summer (although, I may have to take a class or two anyways.... :( not enough credits to become a Sophomore next fall >_<)

April 25th the last time anyone said anything... :( if that's the real deadline, then I might not be able to draw a picture in time. It's crunch time at school, and I have lots of work to do.

And it was boring. I think that Xel's idea needs to wait a bit, at least until we all get some free time. Right now, the due date (unless I get backlashed for this) is pending. :unsure:

I just wonder about Kade's idea. The due date for that would be...mid June? Do we have enough time for Xel's idea before that? I think we do...the only problem is getting some inspiration to draw.

Well, I think that I will try drawing some of the characters from Maison Ikkoku (very old-school.....80's anime, pretty cute. Not higher-technology based....), and intergrate it into a gundam universe-type place.

That might work ^_^.
